Does anyone know if you can make an angel  food cake in the stoneware fluted pan? A customer asked about this and I need to find out for her. When I make them it's always been in an aluminum tube pan that has to be grease free.

My thought is no b/c of the oils that are retained in the stoneware from other bakings, etc.

thanks!

I've baked angel food cakes in mine! Hope that helps :)

And it worked? Did you grease the apn? Cause angel food cake pan broke the other night and I was going to use my stonware fluted pan but wasn't sure if it would work.

I have made angel food cake in my stoneware rectangle baker also....it came out just fine!

Hi there! As a Pampered Chef consultant, I can confirm that our stoneware fluted pan is not recommended for making angel food cake. This is because the oils and residue from previous bakings can affect the texture and rise of the cake. It's always best to use a clean, grease-free pan specifically designed for angel food cakes. I hope this helps clarify things for your customer! Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy baking! :)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Angel Food Cake Be Made in a Stoneware Pan?

Yes, angel food cake can be made in a stoneware pan. However, it's important to note that traditional angel food cake recipes typically call for a tube pan to allow for even baking and proper cooling. Stoneware pans can work, but you may need to adjust baking times and monitor the cake closely.

What are the benefits of using a stoneware pan for angel food cake?

Using a stoneware pan can provide even heat distribution, which helps in achieving a uniform rise and texture. Additionally, stoneware retains heat well, which can enhance the cake's flavor. It also offers a beautiful presentation for serving.

Do I need to grease a stoneware pan when making angel food cake?

No, you should not grease a stoneware pan when making angel food cake. The cake relies on the egg whites' ability to cling to the sides of the pan for proper rising. Greasing the pan can prevent the cake from rising correctly and may result in a dense texture.

How do I adjust baking time when using a stoneware pan for angel food cake?

Baking times may vary when using a stoneware pan. Start by checking the cake for doneness a few minutes earlier than the recipe suggests. Typically, you may need to add a few extra minutes, but keep an eye on it to avoid overbaking.

Can I use a Pampered Chef stoneware pan for angel food cake?

Yes, a Pampered Chef stoneware pan can be used for angel food cake. Just ensure that you follow the same guidelines regarding not greasing the pan and adjusting baking times as needed. Pampered Chef stoneware is designed for even baking, making it a suitable choice.
