Yeah at conference one of my consultants did that and it was so funny. She was moving stuff and making a new checked bag. She learned her lesson. I also don't want a bag too big. Where will I store it on the crusie? I heard under the beds.

Yup. they fit under the beds and also you have a small closet that they will fit in too. Two beds are on the floor no matter what and they should be able to hide about 4 suitcases. What I do (because I can NEVER travel without more than one bag, traveling light does NOT exist in this household), is unpack everything and put it all away in the draws/closet etc., then I can stack my smaller suitcase into my larger suitcase and then slide it under the bed.

The rooms are very small so you want to make good use of the space you have! This is my third time on this particular ship :) And I still couldn't be more excited to go!!!!

Thanks for the tip!!
I also read on cruise critics that you can have them store your luggage. I'm not too sure I would do that.
Since you have been on this ship before, I have a question.
Since this is my first cruise. What do photo's usually cost? I know they say they are always taking your picture on a cruise.

They can be pretty pricey for the professional ones, so what I do is save them throughout the week in my "special spot" (A spot you choose to hide them in) and then we go through all of them and pick and choose a few that we like the best. The last cruise I went on (It was Royal Carribean but not this ship, but I think it's all pretty uniform) an 8x10 was $20 I think. The do take smaller pictures as well (like in the dining room) and those were like $10. If you're a picture person like me it's so hard to decide.

On our honeymoon cruise (Princess Cruise Lines) we ended up spending $240 just on photos because I refused to narrow them down since they were "once in a lifetime" ha ha. Now that I've had surgery and lost so much weight, I don't even like looking at them anymore... but their still great to have as memories :)

Getting antsy! I want to go NOW!I've spent most of the day reading more reviews on Cruise Critic. I'm getting so antsy for the cruise! One of the things I read about was the Crown and Anchor Society so I thought I'd look into it. It's a "frequent cruiser" kind of program that has some benefits, like a savings booklet and stuff with little deals in it. As long as you've cruised at least once with Royal Caribbean, you can sign up. I heard you get coupons for little savings in the casino, bars, the restaurants you have to pay extra to go to, etc. The more you cruise, the bigger the deals and benefits.

SO I signed up!! They say that the savings booklet is delivered to your cabin the first day of the cruise. I hope I signed up with enough time to spare since the cruise is 22 days away. I just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone else wanted to sign up for it. You'll see the tab for it on their website. I figured, why not?

  • #56
Cool Becky
How did you sign up?

  • #57
You just go to www.royalcaribbean.com and you'll see a tab with the Crown and Anchor Society stuff. I forget what area it was, maybe under benefits or something it said at some point to register if you weren't yet a member. You have to at least have gone on one RCI cruise and it asks for your name and date of travel for the past cruise. I just entered that information and it enrolled me. I wish I remember exactly where it was, but look around and you'll probably find it.:)

  • #58
If they do pictures like the last cruise, you can make decisions on all photo's up until the last evening. They WILL take tons of photo's. There was a photo area where you went, viewed, discarded what you clearly didn't want, and then could continue to "evaluate" stuff you were considering purchasing. My main advise on their photos is to not feel you have to buy the first day...wait and see what all comes thru.

We did purchase 4 or 5 shots last time...ones that showed the date and the boat picture, etc. I'm not shy about asking folks to take our picture either so I had a LOT of great casual pics too!

  • #59
Does anyone know yet what they plan to do in Nassau? I still haven't figure that out yet.

My hubby and I are part of that and it's great!!!!!!!! Last cruise we went on last year we got all kinds of great coupons and we even got two sets of Royal Carribean terrycloth bath robes to take home as a free gift. There's different levels of the program so I'm not sure what comes with the first level, but this will be my 11th cruise with Royal Carribean and we love the perks! Especially the Casino coupons :)

Oh wow, you're in a good level!! I think Gold is when you've at least done one cruise (this will only be our 2nd cruise - both on PC!!!), 5 cruises is the next level and 10 is the level after that. Cool, I bet you'll get some good goodies! I mainly wanted the casino coupons and the coupon that waives the extra fee for Johnny Rockets.:) My DH's birthday is a couple days after we get back from the cruise, so I just ordered a birthday cake that they'll deliver to our cabin with a bottle of wine the 2nd night. I hope he's surprised! Of course he'll probably see the charge on the cc before the cruise and wonder what the heck that is.

  • #62
Becky that is so sweet!
My DH's is before the cruise and I looked at that stuff too.
I didn't see a cake?

  • #63
The cakes were under the stateroom decorations category. The cake was only $8.00 which I thought wasn't bad. Granted it's a small cake, but it's the cheapest thing on the "menu" of things you can have delivered to your stateroom. I liked the wine and cheese tray too, but I figured with all the other food we'll have to eat, I didn't need to spend $48 or whatever on that.

  • #64
Alright Becky, I'm going to check it out. I think I'll do the cake (or whatever else I can find that's inexpensive) and have it delivered. I wonder if they'll do a note saying "Thank you for all your support!"

He'd be so touched! I know I'd be!

  • #65
I found them
You can get Happy Birthday
Bon Voyage
Congratulations

  • #66
Alright, where did you find them and can pay right online?

  • #67
As I was getting ready to order it, you can have a message on the gift card. I like Krisit's idea of the thanks for all your support.

  • #68
Shop gifts and gear and then it is the stateroom decorations category.
You can pay by card online. Have it sent to the room or brought to dinner. Then you can choose what day you want it too.

  • #69
Thank you Melissa! I'm purchasing it now but what do you guys think? Stateroom or Dining room? I'm thinking dining room so it shows my hubby that I want everyone to know that I do appreciate him but then I don't want the other couples like man, I feel like poopy!

Our 10 yr anniversary is in June. I was thinking of doing something special like that since we won't take a trip or anything in June. (Thanks PC for the free anniversary trip! :D)Off to go check it out....

  • #71
I like your thinking. Since I have my kids with me. I did ours to the room and made the card to the kids too. That is why they are coming. They were a BIG support last year.
I think too that at dinner it may make your husband feel even more special.
Depends on the type of person he is.

June what?

  • #73
He's not much of a cake person so now I'm thinking the strawberry platter. Hmmm.....decisions decisions. 4 chocolate covered strawberries are $9 and 9 are $15 so I don't know what I should do!

Hey Deb, our 8 year anniv. is July 28th!

  • #76
June 1st is our 12th year.

  • #77
I would go for the 9 then if you do strawberries.

  • #78
Okay, why 9? I'm thinknig the 4 but then I'm like whoopdedoo! 9 has a better presentation I'm sure. But I know he'll eat them!

  • #79
Was it $9 for 4 and $15 for 9. Your getting more that double and the cost isn't double. If they are good you will wish you had more than 4 and yes, 9 makes a nicer presentation.

  • #80
There should have been a 6. Right?

  • #82
So which one are you going for?

  • #83
I'll probably get the 15. I just don't know if I want the dining room or the stateroom!

  • #84
Maybe the room if your doing strawberries instead of the cake.
I'm sure either way he will love it.

  • #85
okay, for the strawberries, it's stateroom only. I just did and printed out my receipt. I'm having it delivered on Thursday since we'll be on the ship all day. It'll be a nice surprise when he's least expecting it. :D

Thank you Becky for the wonderful idea!!:D

I'm so excited that everyone is doing it. It'll be fun to share everyone's husbands' reactions. I wonder if they get lots of these requests....if not they'll wonder "what in the world is going on with these guests!?"

How fun! I'm glad I found that little section and started exploring.:D

This is the cutest idea and I've never heard of it before! The anniversary of what would have been our son's 2nd birthday in on Thursday the 17th. It's really hard for us not to be at home with him at his gravesite and with our families, so I think this would be really special to surprise my husband with it on that day... it will mean alot, thank you so much for sharing!

Although there is no guarantee that things will be the same as last time, 2 years ago when we cruised, PC had a welcome bottle of champagne and I think a fruit basket in the room when we arrived. Still, I'm gonna review the list and see if there is something special to have waiting! (Info is in the cruise package we should all have by now, as well as online).

My day job is in the middle of what might be considered a "hostile takeover" and I am a nervous wreck 5 days a week. I can't WAIT to get on that boat!

When DH and I cruised the Navigator with PC in 2006, my ex-DH had the strawberry platter delivered to our room upon arrivel aith a card that said something like "Have a great time and try to relax, Love Alan & the kids"
I have MAJOR travel anxiety and he knew how hard it was for me to leave the kids for 8 days...it was a sweet gesture...had me in tears - LOL
Then a second later I turned around & saw the champagne and fruit from Doris & Marla....(someone shoulda delivered some Kleenex, too - LOL)

Got a dress for formal night. Can't wait!!!!http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/womens/dresses/PRD~311288/apt+9+Framed+Teardrop+Dress.jsp

  • #92
That's a cute dress Deb. I'll be wearing something cute like that too. Just so you're not surprised, there'll be women in bridesmaids dresses. No Joke. I choose the more casual approach I guess!

  • #93
I'm dressing down a bit this year as well, normally I do go the "bridesmaid" route and I've worn my prom dresses several times on cruises. I really like going all out because we don't get that much of an opportunity to dress like that when we're home. I just didn't want to lug a heavier dress this year so I have a "semi formal" red satin cocktail dress instead this time.

On the other hand, I did bring kinda dressy outfits for all the casual nights simply because I found great deals and they were soo cute! He He

  • #94
I'm not sure what I'm wearing yet. I guess I better decide!!:love0010:

Ok - for everyone already daydreaming about being on the Sovereign, I found someone who posted tons of pics from their cruise on the SOS in November. It's a fun little preview....

I've been thinking about this...I have a dress I wore in my sister's wedding in October, but it's floor length with a HUGE skirt and I just don't want to pack it! it will take up too much room.

I found some cute things online at Newport News, but I don't want to spend more money. Plus I read somewhere that formal night on the shorter cruises tends to be less formal than the formal night on longer cruises. Who knows if that's true, but I'm sticking to it. :)

The dress I found looks much better on me and my curves than on that stupid stick thin mannequin in the picture anyway. LOL

That's the attitude to have!!! I borrowed a really cute flowy dress (knee length) today that I love. I can't wait to see it on all done up. :DThe countdown has begun and I have NOTHING packed! Thankfully it's not this Monday!
