Quick update: I had a very rough few days, to say the least. Without being too graphic. I ended up in the ER last Thursday night after throwing up twice that day. I was afraid of being dehydrated anyway and my doc didn't have an opening until today (Monday). So at the ER they pumped me full of fluid and gave me something for my nausea so I could guzzle down dye for a Cat scan *meow*. They released me with a bunch of meds which I took the next day and proceeded to vomit to the point where I couldn't even keep water down. Talked with my doc on the phone and he rearranged how and when I should take my meds and stayed out of the hospital that night. Saturday was a blur... but I kept hydrated with water and managed to keep the meds down. Sunday I added in very minimal easy to digest food and made it through thanks to the meds. Today, I had my appt with my family doc and he noted that my gut is still very tender so a few more days of eating mush and keeping up with my liquids and I should be just fine... This has been a very painful, disgusting couple weeks in total thanks to this stomach bug. He figures that it's something viral, so just time and patience is needed. The meds make it so I can at least eat something.... which is a good thing, cuz I miss food. It also seems that thanks to this stomach bug, I've lost 5 lbs so, there's the silver lining. LOL... just not the way I'd recommend anyone losing weight though. :yuck:

Today was a good day... mostly. Still ate lightly and had a scare after my dinner of buttered bread and applesauce... LOL... oy. Even Benedryl seemed to work on the hives, at least after the 2nd dose... oh yeah, on top of all the stomach woes, I had MAJOR hives too. LOL..

Well, I just had to update.....the Lia Sophia consultant I was talking about signed on Monday!!! Woo hoo!!! She came to a couple meetings and is coming to see my show on Sunday. She's still planning to do LS as well, but I think this is what she's most excited about. I'm excited FOR her!!!

  • #58
I have a good friend who sells LS and I SO WANT TO RECRUIT HER!!!!Any good angles to play (so to speak)? I don't want to convince her but she's struggling so bad with LS it makes me sad for her. I think she's afraid if she changes her husband will be less supportive than he is now.

Colleen,
There's nothing really that comes to mind other than I"ve heard from more than one source (not this particular LS consultant - but someone whose daughter used to be a LS consultant) that their customer service is horrible. It made the daughter quit. My new consultant did tell me that the training WE provide is far and above better than what LS has. And she hadn't even gotten the kit yet when she discovered this!

I'm attaching a little "worksheet" that my director gave me that might help, although you may have seen it before. It's great if you have a potential consultant who's considering more than one business or already has another DS business. I hope it's helpful. I tweaked it a little bit to include a little bit more info because some was outdated.

Thanks so much Becky!!!! :)

Thank you! I have a few others on the verge (I hope!) so this would be a great start to this year. Too bad I didn't get any by Jan 31st to get that Leadership bonus. Oh well. At least my team is growing (I also had 2 consultants recruit 3 new people total!)

Thanks for the well wishes guy. I ended up back in the ER Thursday night... DS got sick with the stomach thing and by Tuesday of last week, I was back in the Land of Disgusting only worse than before... I have an appt with a specialist this coming Tues on the advice of both my family doc and the ER attending doc... so we shall see... everyone seems baffled and they're thinking it's got to be more going on than the stomach flu. Needless to say, I'm really hungry... DH was a doll, we got to spend Valentine's Day together at least and without the kids but boy, was NOT the way I wanted to spend alone time with hubby. ah well... we got me a Vermont Teddy Bear made just for me! And of course tons of chocolate which is just sitting here... until I can eat again. :(

I agree must be something more than the flu. I hope they figure it out soon!

Well, I can say this is the best February I've ever had. Definitely NOT because of the sales (pretty lame so far...but I still have 4 shows to go and 2 catalog shows to close out), but because of recruiting!!! I had one sign on 2/4, another 2/8, one I met with on 2/13 said she's going to sign, but is lining up her shows and JUST got an email from a HO lead from 2/4 who I've been talking to and now she said she's decided to sign!! I'll jump for joy when I see those last two actually submit their agreements, but I'm so excited! I JUST love starting off the year this way and am totally hooked on the excitement and the enthusiasm that new consultants have about starting a new adventure. So, if these last two sign in the next couple days that would be 4 recruits within about 2 weeks. That's a record for sure.:D:D

I've also got another hot lead who came to our last cluster meeting and is pondering it. Whew....don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but FIVE in one month would just amaze me.:D

Ok, thanks for listening!! I'm very excited and although my DH is too, he looks at it totally from a financial point of view and how much $$$$ that will mean for the family.

Thankfully I was able to get a specialist appointment for tomorrow. The first two places I tried didn't have an opening until the end of the month! Geesh... after the tongue lashing I got from the ER doc no way was I waiting that long, especially if I needed meds in between (her tongue lashing involved me 'having to understand' that I can't live off of Bentyl and need to get seen otherwise the meds may mask what may be wrong)... she's right of course, too bad she couldn't have used her haranguing skills to get me an appt. LOL..

Saw the GI guy this morning... have to offer more.. .samples... only thing they haven't taken yet. *sigh*... ah well.... they're interested to see if it's something viral, bacterial or something else.... but seems that I'm getting better and may just be done with all this mess... which would be REALLY nice.

Hi guys... I'm eating mostly normal now... still haven't heard back about my last round of labs... hoping that no news is good news but still begs the question of what the heck was wrong with me for so long and so pronouncedly. I've had friends get sick with this stomach thing but no one else ended up flat on their backs for weeks... they had it outta their system after a couple days. So... we'll see... I guess. LOL I actually had energy this morning to do laundry.. yeah, how exciting. LOL

Oh, it's pretty self explanatory... the white one is for DD and is plain pasta, spring mix, dried fruit nut mix and a cheese stick. The back one is for DS and is same pasta with an asian mix of soy, mirin and brown rice vinegar... a sice of arame (seaweed) that's been rehydrated and spring mix for him too and a packet of fruit snacks.

Do you like the seaweed? I've had some and it wasn't bad. Looks really good to me. I'm going have to think about trying it.

I didn't try any myself.. I will eventually. LOL... DS tried a piece when I was putting the lunch together and he said it tasted bland. I told him I put it in a divider cup only in case he didn't like it, otherwise he could mix is in with the pasta as much as he liked. Just didn't wanna hear "I couldn't eat it - it didn't taste good" later... LOL.

I'm insane... really I am. I tried making sushi last night!

  • #94
It was very time consuming... and making the rice was the easy part. That they say it's sticky is an understatement... LOL... I learned a lot though...

  • #95
Like a teeny tiny bit of wasabi goes a LOOOOONGGGG way... and too much rice is a bad thing... lol.. and our saute pan holds heat a long time... I browned sesame seeds on it and took them off after they were browned... that pan continued to sizzle for at least 10 minutes after removal... lol

  • #96
Sounds like a good testimony for cookware sales! You are so creative and daring with food! I am a chicken

  • #97
I wasn't always daring with food... was a time I was afraid to bake yeasted bread! LOL... Don't know why... after I tried it, found out it wasn't that hard! I think the whole yeast/water temp thing worried me. LOL... Now that I can make sushi rice (way easier than the sushi itself! LOL) I'm really excited to try onigiri (rice balls)... they can be soooo cute! On the LJ bento community I belong to, a gal made a batch of rice balls and made little faces on each one... they were so expressive and cute!
