Recruiting Lia Sophia Consultant: Tips & Advice Needed!

cuz I miss food. It also seems that thanks to this stomach bug, I've lost 5 lbs so, there's the silver lining. LOL... just not the way I'd recommend anyone losing weight though. :yuck:

Hoping to recruit Lia Sophia consultant!Hi guys!
I met a LS consultant on Thursday night at a booth event. She was nice and LOVES PC. She gushed about it the whole time. I said she needed to consider being a consultant. Seriously!! Her enthusiasm was amazing. Despite a slow night, she kept it fun. Anyway, she emailed me over the weekend to request information about PC. Yay! She has had some great specific questions. I'm going over to her house tomorrow to give her the DVD and a few other things and hopefully do an impromptu recruiting interview (of course I'll have my 3 y.o. daughter with me, so we'll see how that goes!).

Anyway, I know there's been lots of comparisons to other DS companies on CS (I haven't been there in several days and frankly don't have time right now to get "sucked in" and waste time reading threads tonight:)), so I thought I'd ask here if anyone knew any ins and outs about LS. I know some basics she shared and the fact that I think their market is really over-saturated and that's why she can't get shows. Just in the last 3 or 4 weeks, I've been invited to 3 jewelry parties (all different companies) and I did go to 2 of them, including LS. They do seem to have a generous host program and consultants don't have to pay host benefits...at least that's what she told me. Her main concern so far is that a PC party would have a little more involved than just taking out a couple cases of jewelry and laying them out. I see where she's coming from, but I also think the FUN and the FOOD from our parties is what makes them exciting and desirable. Any other thoughts on this? I know her commission with LS is more...30% she says and they get 70% off samples. I told her about earning free products, personal discount, kit enhancements and all the other awesome incentives they throw our way that really aren't hard to achieve.

Just thought I'd ask you awesome directors out there for any other input. Thanks!!! I'd be psyched to start the new year with a recruit...maybe two!! I had a HO lead that wants to sign, but is waiting for January.

Don't worry about knowing about LS or comparing. Tell her what you know about PC. And, something I like to tell my new consultants who are scared, get the guests to put the recipe together - they do your job for you! Everyone eats.

I have a good friend who sells LS and ironically we're having lunch today! Would love for her to come over to PC eventually! We got into a "comparison" conversation and the major things that blew her mind about PC was our low monthly minimum (she ends up buying a ton of product to meet her minimum) and they have NO leave of absence for maternity, illness, relocation, etc.I think they only need 2 or 3 to become a manager, but since their minimums are so high, she lost it almost immediately and there isn't a repromotion period.Good luck! Let us know what happens!

Thanks guys! I did end up going on CS last night and re-read a lot of the Lia Sophia-related threads. I saw the point about the option for a leave, so I was sure to let her know that. She did wonder what our "quota" was so I'm hoping she was impressed by our low sales requirements.

We'll see what happens.......

Good Luck Becky!!!!

I say that and also remind them that it is her business and she can do it however she wants (making recipe from home or ask host to make ahead of time...). But also stress that she will not be alone. You will work with her and make sure she is ready and trained.

Good luck!

I agree, don't try to compare - but I do like to remind them that EVERYONE eats, whether they like to cook or not. And I know when *I* get a new tool, I cook more (which benefits everyone! And saves us $$ - don't forget the food write-offs! Eating free is huge. lol).

Don't forget to update us!

Well, it seems that she's feeling it's a good fit for her, but may not start until the end of February when she already has her Lia Sophia open house scheduled. I encouraged her to start in January to take advantage of the awesome host specials in Jan and Feb. I'd think you can attract lots of host just based on that alone, plus pair that with her starting a new business and hopefully people wanting to help her out and she has a great start! So, we'll see. I'm going on vacation (Mexico for a week with the DH, kids and my parents for my sister's wedding!!) so I'll see what she's thinking when I get back. :)

Thanks for everyone's input!!:chef:

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Just had great news this morning... I'm BEAMING! My son made county orchestra. They take the best 6th grade string students and they're invited to a few extra rehearsals and a half day intensive with a guest conductor that ends with a public concert! I'm sooo thrilled for him!!

I haven't ventured beyond applesauce, crackers and bananas though and I'm getting tired of those! Plus I have a headache from no caffeine all these days too... ugh. Can't win. lol
