I am sobbing you guys. This is horrible.

Liz's mom passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. She passed in her sleep. She wasn't sick or anything.

This is just horrible.

If you can spare a prayer for Liz, I'd appreciate it.

Oh Debbie my heart goes out to Liz. I will pray for her and her family.

Praying here too! I lost my Mom 11-1/2 years ago and today is her birthday. I miss her so much each year. I can understand the pain Liz's family is going through!

Thoughts and prayers going out to Liz and her family.

Thoughts and prayers going up. My dad passed away 17 years ago today, the day before Thanksgiving, also unexpectedly. Obviously Thanksgiving isn't a very great day for us.

May Liz find comfort and peace during this time.

I am so sorry for her loss. Prayers to her and her family. Its never easy to lose a loved one, but right near the holidays makes it so much harder.

I feel so bad for her with the holiday coming up. Prayers coming her way.

Prayers are being sent to Liz and her family. No time is a good time especially around the holidays. At least her mother went peacefully and fast which should be of some comfort to all.

Oh, how horrible:(

Debbie - just saw this! Sorry I missed it earlier. We lost my husband's aunt the same way last week.

I missed this too Deb! What a really sad time for Liz and her family. My prayers are with her ~

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do to support my team member who lost her mom?

Offering your condolences and being there for her is crucial. You can send a heartfelt message, a card, or flowers. Additionally, consider organizing a team effort to provide meals or help with any immediate needs she may have during this difficult time.

How can I approach the topic of her loss without making her uncomfortable?

It's important to be sensitive and respectful. You can start by expressing your condolences and letting her know you're there for her. Avoid probing questions about her feelings unless she chooses to share. Simply offering a listening ear can be very comforting.

Should I continue to expect her to participate in team activities during her grieving process?

It's essential to be understanding and flexible. Grieving is a personal process, and she may need time away from team activities. Check in with her and let her know that her participation is welcome whenever she feels ready, but there is no pressure to engage until she is comfortable.

Is it appropriate to share her loss with the rest of the team?

Before sharing any personal information, it's best to ask for her permission. If she is comfortable, you can inform the team so they can offer their support. However, respect her wishes if she prefers to keep it private.

What resources can I provide to help her cope with her loss?

You can suggest support groups, counseling services, or online resources for grief support. Additionally, offering to connect her with other team members who have experienced similar losses can provide her with a sense of community and understanding during this tough time.
