What is a good door prize to do? Is a dollar amount better or a specific product or a FREE cooking show?

for the door prize, I give a quick-cut knife of a season's best

I have citris peelers, SB's and quick-cuts in a Woven-Selections basket so people can choose which they want.

Oops! I forgot to mention this is in regards to having a booth or a table set up at an event.

I've found that when you give away a specific product, some people will not fill out the raffle slip because they don't want the product or they have it already. I think a homemade gift certificate to PC is a good idea, because they can pick which products they want. Most people won't refuse a shopping spree (no matter how small!) I'd do a $15 or $20 gift certificate. You can always call everyone back and tell them they won a FREE cooking show!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are door prizes in the context of direct sales?

Door prizes are incentives offered to attendees at a sales event, such as a party or demonstration, to encourage participation and engagement. They can be in the form of cash, products, or gift cards, and are typically awarded through a random drawing.

What are the benefits of offering cash as a door prize?

Offering cash as a door prize can be appealing because it provides immediate value to the winner, allowing them to spend it as they wish. It can attract more attendees since cash prizes are often seen as more desirable and can create excitement around the event.

What are the advantages of giving away products as door prizes?

Giving away products as door prizes can help promote your brand and showcase your offerings. Winners receive tangible items that they can use or share, which can lead to increased interest in purchasing similar products. It also allows you to highlight new or popular items in your catalog.

Which option tends to generate more interest among attendees?

The effectiveness of cash versus product prizes can vary based on your audience. Generally, cash prizes may attract a broader audience due to their universal appeal, while product prizes can engage those specifically interested in your offerings. Testing both options can help determine what works best for your specific group.

How can I decide between cash and product prizes for my event?

Consider your target audience, budget, and the goals of your event. If your primary aim is to drive sales and showcase products, offering product prizes may be more beneficial. If you want to maximize attendance and excitement, cash prizes might be the way to go. Gathering feedback from past events can also guide your decision.
