Becky,
it's funny how you mentioned having an organizer come in. A few years ago several PC friends hired me to come in and set up their offices so it was workable for them.
My biggest tip is when I bring the mail in I sort it over my LB trash can then we have a hanging file folder and I file each persons mail int heir folder.
I can not stand clutter.
Teresa

Okay....here's mine!Since you all were posting your pictures it inspired me to straighten my office up (just a little!). So here are my pics. You'll see my desk area, credenza, and the storage closet. The large pile on the left side of the desk belongs to DH! And the picture on the monitor is my adorable son!

Great idea with the file folders! I may have to use that one. I am better about throwing any junk away in the garbage cans out in the garage---even before I come in.:)

You should do the organizing as a side business! That or sell LB yourself.:D Too bad you don't life by me or else I would have hired you because you know exactly where I'm coming from!

my kids have diagnosed me as OCD!!they laugh at me because I vacuum & do laundry everyday they think I'm definately not normal. Looking at the pictures I could see things that needed straightening (postcards, catalogs etc)
Other peoples messes (as long as it isn't at my house) HA! don't bother me so post away!!
I always want new ideas too
Teresa

I do laundry, vacuum and clean everyday as well!! I am the same way about other peoples messes. It is just my house that has to be spotless! Ever seen "Sleeping with the Enemy"....my neighbors joke about me being that obsessive!

I am absolutely loving this thread. I couldn't wait to get back on and see if there was more pics just to see how people organize. I love those baskets. I have a few myself. Looks very colorful.

Oh for those of you who don't know how to post pics...

Jilleysue YEA I'm SOOO Glad yall are having fun with this thread!! Yall will see before & finally AFTER pics of my office!!! I am soo organization-challenged! I long for it but it seems out of reach when dealing with a tetthing-now sick baby!!AHHHH!!!! But I did go to joann fabrics & found my fabric I wanna use for drapes! Sooo I'm picking a color from that! My mom is a crafty lady! Sooo We're thinkin corness(cannot spell it!lol) boards for the window treatments. I am attepting to upload the fabric samples to here... Let me know yalls thoughts.. I am leaning towards the longer green one- the texture is neat & I like the leafy print on it.. so my walls are looking to be a bright energy green!!

Ok sorry so big! So I'm thinking of leaning towards the geen one... what do yall think!? And painting the walla the light green on the one leaf & accenting with the other colors...

I like the one you picked. The striped would be too colorful for me and personally I don't like blue. I really like nuetral paint and then I can change the accents. That is what I always do in every room. I am tooooo picky to do colors on walls...my lord I would be painting every week. You can see the color in my pics, I had an interior decorator pick it out. I change candles and pillows to go with my mood every season.....LOL Bright colors, dark colors..just depends. You can see above my office I have a small window, I am going to do a valance for some color to brighten that area, but I am sure I will switch that every month...HAHAHAHA. It's bad enough my color for my PC business is purple. My stampers are purple, file folders are purple, labels are purple, forms are purple....God I am insane...LOL

Jill,
Oh i see your a fellow floridian! So you know all about our dreadful weather!lol Yea I know different colors send different vibes in spaces so I think I'm going green, ohh bring me money!!! LOLlol how funny my fav color is PURPLE!!! I should organize all my stuff to be "purple as my signature color"(like shelby on steel magnolias)

I overall want to make the space productive so I can buckle down & work & have time to bring a toy in for my babygirl to play on the floor if mommy needs to get work done! Right now its disaster so if she crys out runs mommy!!!!!

Lite purple accents such as folders and stampers and labels with that green would be pretty.
Yes I am in Florida. Originally from Maine but love it here.

Wow, Theresa, those were awesome pics and I'm so jealous! Not just of your organization, but those baskets. I REALLY want to see others' messy offices so I can show my husband!! It irritates the heck out of him that I'm messy. I swear I try to keep organized, but it piles up. I do have a really cool office area in our finished basement. I will really try to take a picture tonight. Too bad I just started trying to clean it up before I read this thread because it's looking a little better. The other half of my office is on our kitchen island. THAT gets out of control where you can't even see the top of it and it drives DH absolutely batty. As some may have read, he got me the services of a professional organizer for my birthday (my idea and I think he went for it because it will benefit him too). It's only a 4 hour chunk of time, so I doubt it's enough, but I'm going to try to "clean" for her first. Like cleaning for the cleaning lady...crazy! So, if I post this picture, it'll be a good before picture. I love how my office is set up, but I seem to be running out of room. I think it'll be a better use of space once I tackle it.

I'll try to post a pic later. Great idea!!!:D
Ok, I'm posting some pictures. I actually spent some time filing receipts from shows over the past few months, which used to be spread out on my desk and "peninsula" area. It's crazy! I'm meeting with the organizer on Jan. 25th, but now that this thread has inspired me to get more organized, it won't be as bad as I thought. I'll have to post the after pictures. Someday I'll take a picture of my island once that gets covered again.:)

Wow, after taking about 30 minutes to mess around with this, hopefully you can see the dang picture. I had to shrink the heck out of the pictures for them to post.

Ha ha ha!! I was going to laugh if someone told me it didn't look that bad. Good, that makes me feel better. I'll tell my husband I'm not the ONLY one who has a messy office. :D

Through my picture program on my computer, I had to keep shrinking it before the upload thing would take it. Just try to shrink it through whatever program you have to manage photos, then re-save it under a different name and try uploading that.

hmmmm...I would prefer a program that would shrink my mess...LOL

doesn't irfan view resize prints?

No excuse now, resize your pictures PEOPLE!http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

This is a tool that microsoft created to resize all your pictures. My lord, if everyone doesn't jump for joy. My BF found this and I was like yeah right, it won't work. So he sent me the link and it down loads it 2 seconds. You won't even notice it on your computer. Once you go to the area where your pictures are, select a number of pictures or one. Put the cursor on a picture and right click, you will then see the option (oh this is great), :D :D RESIZE and you can pick what you want!!!

Can you believe it??? All of the sudden you have smaller pictures of whatever you want. I pretty much kissed his feet the other day. It resized all pics in literally 1 minute.
Took hours of time and stress from my life.
Hopefully I put the right link on. :D ENJOY!!!!

Jill, you might just be the happiest girl I know!
