The thread discusses a situation where an order was mistakenly submitted as an individual order instead of being credited to a party. Participants share their experiences and thoughts on how to address the issue of ensuring the correct credit for the party.

Discussion Character

  • Anecdotal
  • Opinion-based

Main Points Raised

  • One participant expresses concern about whether the sister-in-law will receive credit for the order placed through the director's website.
  • Another participant shares their experience suggesting that the sister-in-law could reorder the items and potentially get a refund for the initial order, although this would tie up her funds temporarily.
  • Several users mention that if the party has not been closed, it may be possible to cancel the incorrect order by contacting the home office, with one participant noting that their similar issue was resolved this way.
  • Another participant adds that there are limits to what can be done once the order progresses too far, indicating that cancellation may not always be an option.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Views differ on the best course of action, with some participants suggesting cancellation is possible while others note that it may depend on the order's status in the process.

Help! Have an order that was submitted online through my director's website (because I didn't have mine up yet, so the invites went out through hers) as an individual order shipped direct to her, instead of through my SIL's party.

Is my SIL out of luck for getting credit for this on her party? Will a phone call anywhere help?

I'm lost. But she's so close to the next level of sales -- I really want to help her!

The only thing she can really do is order those items again and when the ones she ordered from your director are delivered she can call to have them picked up and get a refund of payment. Her money from the first order will be tied up for that time though - so she needs to know that.

It depends. Have you closed your sister's party yet? If not, then you can call HO with the online order number and have them cancel it. Actually your director may have to do that because it's under her name. I had the same thing happen last month and they canceled it forme.

Good to know!

Sometimes you can cancel the "wrong" order...but once it gets so far through the process, HO can't do anything to stop it. If it can't be cancelled, then Beth's answer is the only thing that will work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Yikes - Individual Order Instead of Host" mean?

This message typically indicates that a customer accidentally placed an order as an individual order rather than as part of a host's party. This can happen if the customer does not select the correct host during the checkout process.

How can I correct an individual order that should have been a host order?

If an order was placed incorrectly, you can contact Pampered Chef customer service to request a change. Provide them with the order details and the host's information, and they will assist you in transferring the order to the correct host's party.

Will the host still receive credit for the individual order?

No, if an order is placed as an individual order, it will not count towards the host's party sales. To ensure the host receives credit, the order must be linked to the host's party during the checkout process.

Can I still add the individual order to the host's party after it has been placed?

How can I avoid making an individual order instead of a host order in the future?

To avoid this mistake, always double-check that you have selected the correct host before completing your order. Additionally, make sure to communicate clearly with customers about the importance of linking their orders to the host's party during the checkout process.
