Aun said:My mom does a recipe called "Strawberry Delight" that I have always loved and I've always gotten rave reviews from everyone when I've made it for others! The only difference is that she adds a layer of vanilla pudding over the cake. It softens the cake and just tastes fantastic. So, it would be angelfood cake, vanilla pudding (use 2 of the 4 serving size boxes), sweetened sliced strawberries, cool whip, and then layer everything again. I think the pudding makes a big difference and sort of "holds" everything else together. You might give that a try....

It’s generally best to prepare the trifle ahead of time. This allows the flavors to meld together and the cake to soak up the juices, enhancing the overall taste. Making it a few hours or even the day before the event can yield the best results.
You can store the trifle in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before serving. However, for optimal freshness and texture, it’s recommended to consume it within 12 hours of preparation.
Yes, you can assemble the trifle during the event if you prefer a more interactive experience. Just keep in mind that the flavors won’t have as much time to develop, and the cake may not absorb the juices as effectively.
Making the trifle ahead of time allows for better flavor integration, saves you time on the day of the event, and reduces stress. It also gives you a chance to focus on other aspects of your event without worrying about dessert preparation.
Store the trifle in an airtight container in the refrigerator. If it’s in a glass dish, cover it tightly with plastic wrap to prevent it from absorbing any odors from the fridge and to keep it fresh.
