Hopefully you didn't scare her away Anne! You'll notice I am staying mum on the whole Ebay thing. It got my feathers ruffled one too many times before.
ChefKearns: I certainly wouldn't want to scare her away. Different opinions is what makes this such a great place. But I just can't allow name calling. And I know what you mean about ruffled feathers.

Gillian: You make an make an EXCELLENT point about ebay and why we should ALL have a vested interest that I didn't think of: job security! Ebay sellers selling current PC items threaten our job security...

Linda: That wasn't my first draft! Hey, I have given as much grief as I have gotten. More than once I have said something and caught heck for it.

I am fortunate to have an amazing director. She is probably my best friend.
But, there have been plenty of times that she wasn't available and I got good, reliable information here. The people on this site have been here for me to laugh, cry and even just listen when I wanted to yell.

I have to agree. Gillian and Anne are two of the most helpful people I have found on this board. Their input, along with that of the many other wonderful cheffers here, has helped my business tremendously. I am thankful that they come on here and post everyday, because it is to the benefit of the rest of us. How they spend their time is none of our business, and clearly, their businesses are not suffering from it. You don't have to agree with anything that is written on here, but please don't insult others for expressing their opinions.

Anyways, thanks ladies, and keep up the great work!

I heartily concur!

I've been watching this one for DAYS - kind of sickening how much this person is making.

(And on the "Bidder 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 thing you'll see - new E-bay rules...)

Dou you have any info from her about whether or not she is a consultant??

Its very easy. On an ebay listing, go down to report this to ebay and ebay tells pampered chef and they cancel your listing. They just cancelled my postcards listing. It happens very quickly!

How does anyone know who is a consultant though...

Yeah...that is what I was thinking. Although, if they are brand new products, catalogs or such....they have toi be a consultant!

They cancel the listing if its from a consultant or not. I think you have to trick the people to find out there name and report it to Pampered Chef.

Yes, I think they have to have some proof...I sent a note to PC on E-bay 2 days ago - no response...they either didn't get it or didn't do anything.

Ebay won't let you (the reporter) know what actions they took. The offender will get an email just like this:

The listing was removed because it violated eBay policy. We have notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has
been canceled.

YOU HAVE TO CONTACT EBAY FIRS, WHO IN TURN CONTACTS PC.

The rights owner, The Pampered Chef, notified eBay that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of
this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law.

How do you contact ebay?

I contacted PC directly and got a reply a few days later. It was from a HO employee and didn't say what actions had been taken, but that they did something and wanted her ebay seller ID to monitor her in the future.

There aren't categories for "US" to properly report the listing to E-bay. If you look at the categories you can see that...if you pick an inappropriate one there isn't grounds for E-bay necessarily to end it and E-bay does NOT tell PC if you report it.

The best thing to do is to contact PC and have them use their VERO account to ask for the listing to be ended. I do this for my place of business quite often. If someone else thinks it violates our policies E-bay will not report it to us, we have to find it on our own or by our customers.

Janet: Well thank you for the info!

It's nice to have a name to send it directly to, as opposed to a department.

That is who I "talked" to as well. This was the latest e-mail from him:

Dear Gillian, Thank you for contacting The Pampered Chef. Can you please provide us with the eBay seller name that she is using? We would like to able to monitor any future eBay activity to be sure more Pampered Chef products are not being listed.

Please respond directly to me at [email protected]. Thanks.

Did you guys warn him you shared his e-mail with other consultants a.k.a "PC E-bay Police" or PEP for short? :)

I didn't because this was a few days ago, but I am sure it is okay...

I haven't heard a response back from him, but I did give him the eBay user ID in the first email, so he may not have if I didn't miss any info that he needed.

I gave it to him in the first e-mail too, but he must have over looked it...

How cool is that! Gillian has penetrated the inner sanctum!
