Does anyone have a thank you letter that they use to send to a customer via email or snail mail when someone has placed an unexpected online order on your website?? I have been doing a fundraiser to help us raise money for our medical deductibles due to my husbands recent hospitalization.

Anyway, I received an online activity email the other day and it was not associated with the show since they purchased a few items on the outlet but the order was for $160. DH nor I even recognize the name let alone where this person lives (Ohio - and we live in NE).

I want to send her something via email and snail mail but just not sure what to say. Her order shipped yesterday and I believe is expected to be delivered tomorrow or Thursday.

TIA

A handwritten note with a Season's Best would be appropriate. I send handwritten thank you notes/postcards for online orders. Lately I've been sending mini catalogs with a note inside.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I include in a thank you letter for a random individual order?

In your thank you letter, you should include a heartfelt expression of gratitude for their order, mention the specific products they purchased, and highlight how those products can enhance their cooking experience. Additionally, consider including a personal touch, such as a recipe suggestion or tips for using the products.

Is it better to send a thank you email or a handwritten letter?

Both options have their merits. A handwritten letter can feel more personal and thoughtful, while an email is quicker and allows for immediate communication. Choose based on your relationship with the customer and the nature of the order; for a more personal touch, opt for a handwritten note, but for convenience, an email works well.

How can I make my thank you letter stand out?

To make your thank you letter stand out, personalize it by addressing the customer by name and referencing their specific order. Use a friendly and warm tone, and consider including a small gift or discount for their next purchase. Including a unique recipe or cooking tip related to their order can also add value.

Should I follow up after sending a thank you letter?

Yes, following up after sending a thank you letter can be beneficial. It shows that you care about their experience and are interested in their feedback. You can ask if they have tried the products and if they have any questions. This can also open the door for future sales and strengthen your relationship with the customer.

Can I use a template for my thank you letter?

Using a template for your thank you letter can save time and ensure consistency, but it’s important to customize it for each customer. Personalization is key in direct sales, so while a template can provide a good structure, make sure to add personal touches that reflect your appreciation for their specific order.
