I weighed the mini catalogs and it seems to be 1 oz or less so I'm just sticking a first class stamp on them. My question is: do I have to tape them shut? If so, should I tape the three open sides or just the longest side? TIA.

I would just do the longest side, but maybe 2 on it to keep it closed better. are you using tape or those cool little perferated dots for mailings?

I would put it in an envelope. The mini catalogs plus an envelope are still under 1 ounce. Otherwise your catalog will be shredded to bits by USPS machines.

I was thinking tape at first but those dots are a good idea. I have some plain ones that I can use. Thanks!

Postal regulations state that you must seal all 3 sides with tape or labels. But they'll get torn up. I highly recommend doing what Deb suggested and put them into envelopes. That's why HO designed them the size they are - so they fit into an envelope.

I think the envelopes are more professional.

But if you decide to not use the envelope, you can get the clear perforated dots at stores like Office Depot that they can easily tear without having to destroy the catalog and/or get a knife to open.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to prepare mini catalogs for mailing?

To prepare mini catalogs for mailing, ensure they are neatly stacked and free of any damage. Use a sturdy envelope or mailer that fits the catalogs snugly to prevent bending. Consider adding a personal note or a small promotional item to enhance the appeal. Always check that the catalogs are properly labeled with the recipient's address and your return address.

What mailing options are available for sending mini catalogs?

You can choose from several mailing options, including standard first-class mail, bulk mailing, or using a courier service for faster delivery. First-class mail is ideal for smaller quantities, while bulk mailing can save costs for larger orders. Always compare rates and delivery times to find the best option for your needs.

How can I ensure my mini catalogs arrive in good condition?

To ensure your mini catalogs arrive in good condition, use rigid mailers or padded envelopes to protect them during transit. Avoid using flimsy envelopes that can easily bend or tear. Additionally, consider using a "Do Not Bend" label on the envelope to alert postal workers to handle it with care.

What is the ideal size for mini catalogs when mailing?

The ideal size for mini catalogs is typically around 5.5 x 8.5 inches, which is standard for mailing and fits well in most envelopes. This size is not only cost-effective but also easy for recipients to handle and store. Always check with your mailing service for specific size requirements to avoid additional charges.

Should I include postage on mini catalogs when mailing?

Yes, you should include appropriate postage on all mini catalogs before mailing. The amount of postage will depend on the weight and size of the catalog, as well as the mailing option you choose. It's important to weigh your catalogs and check with your postal service to ensure you have the correct postage to avoid delays or returns.
