Marie-France...I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a Mom is difficult, even when it is "part blessing" so she didn't have to suffer any more. (I know what you mean by part blessing, too....I felt that way for my Mom too. She no longer has the physical and emotional pain that she had been dealing with for soooooo long.) Every situation is different...but I can tell you from experience (coming up on the second anniversary of my Mom's death in a few months- she was only 53) that you have some tough days ahead, and that those tough days will get fewer and fewer. I doubt that the pain and feeling of loss never goes away- how can we ever feel 100% OK with our Mom's being gone? Just know that God will give you the strength that you need each day. He has you in the palm of His hand...keep looking for His touches in the days/months to follow and He will surprise you!

My prayers and my heart goes out to you and your family right now.

Marie - Sorry to hear of your loss! I too lost a parent, my dad, about 2-3 months before Kelly lost her mom. It is not an easy time, I didn't sleep for about a week and ran non-stop doing things. I couldn't eat (although I knew I should and tried). My brother was the opposite, he ate like there wasn't going to be any food left tomorrow!Anyway, each person reacts differently and it isn't an easy time. Take care of yourself and your family, let yourself cry and grieve however you need to and come visit us for support. We know how tough it is, but also know you will make it through!Hugs and prayers to you!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Marie..............

Big Hugs to you and your family

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I've lost both my parents, my mom being only one month shy of her 52nd birthday, and I was pregnant with my daughter, too. That was a little over 21 years ago now.
It really does leave a "hole" in your heart, and I still grieve for her now and then, but it's not as bad as it used to be.
God really is in control, and He will help you through this time, as you let Him. I pray His peace for you and your family.

What a nice thing to say! You really made me smile! :)

I sure know where to come when I'm feeling blue and need a cheer up! Especially if it's in the middle of the night, 'cause eventhough people tell you to call anytime, I would never call someone at 2 or 3 in morning, but I know I can come here and there's always someone around.

I love you guys.....

Make sure you keep us posted on funeral arrangements and such. I would like to pray for you and your family specifically while you are there...

Any special things you are doing at the funeral or calling hours to honor your Mom? We brought old photo albums...set up picture frames around the room of our family...picked out certain songs to play before and during the ceremony (Me, my brother, and my dad walked out to be seated at the beginning of the ceremony while "Praise you in the storm" by Casting Crowns was playing. Now, everytime I hear that song I am reminded of how God provided me with strength and an underlying peace during that whole time. I wholehartedly KNOW that God is the only reason that my brother and I got through the funeral arrangements, calling hours, and funeral without being a complete mess. God lifts you up when you need it...just call on Him!

Kelly, the wake is today from 4-8pm AST. I put together a poster board of pictures of Mom throughout her life. What a task that was! How do you compile 60 years of someone's life on one relatively small piece of bristol board!?! It was a nice thing for me to do, though. It was very therapeutic.

The funeral is tomorrow at 11am AST. We are playing two pieces of Andrea Bocelli. They are pieces she picked out herself. Both my brother and I will be speaking during the service. Thank you for you prayers during that time, because I sure will need to be strong!!

I am so sorry. It's so hard when you lose a parent. I'll be praying for you and your family.

My heart is sad for you and your family. You all are in my prayers.

MF, my heart aches for you and your family. Even though she is at peace and all knew her days were fading...nothing can prepare you for her passing. I have not lost my parents and thank God everyday for them. My Mom is my best friend. Growing up in a household of all men and being the youngest...she was and continues to always be there for me.

Your father's word touched me and brought tears to my eyes. So glad that you were all with her as she laid her head on God's hand. Find comfort in knowing that she went from abundent love in this life to abundent love in her eternal life with the Lord.

I can only imagine your days ahead. The exhaustion, the mixed emotions that you described and the hole in your heart. Happy times with her will help fill that gap in a little.

Many {{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} and prayers for you and your family.

Marie-France
I'm so sorry for your loss. I will be praying for you this morning, that our great God gives you and your family comfort during this time. I can't even imagine the rollercoaster of emotions you're going through. Sorrow for the loss, rejoicing for there is no more pain & suffering.
We underestimate how powerful God is. Lean on Him, He's always there!
It sounds like you have lots of wonderful memories of your Mom!
