Holiday Open House: Does Date of Show Matter?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the timing of a holiday open house event and its impact on sales. Participants agree that the actual date of the show is less critical than the submission date in the Party Plan (PP) system. Submitting the show on December 1 or 2 allows for sales to count towards December's consultant incentives, which is beneficial for earning spring/summer products. A successful example was shared where a fundraiser was strategically timed to maximize product availability for Mother's Day.

Here's the scenario. I want to get together with reps of some other companies (Avon etc) and do a holiday open house. I get busy at my day job in Dec and I thought this would be a great way to get sales, esp b/c I might be FD by then. I won't have time to do shows that month.

I wanted to do it first weekend of Dec, but the other reps are thinking mid to late November instead.

My question is: does the date of the show matter or when you submit it? Say I submit on Dec 1 or 2 to close it out. Can I pick December in the drop down in PP for "month submitted for"??

Just want to know before I commit to a date.

Thanks!

it really doesn't matter what date you actually have the show. but when you do put it in PP, put show date as of Dec 1 or 2 and then submit it on the 3 or 4th. This way you will have the sales for the consultant incentive for December (earning spring/summer products). This way people will have christmas gift early

When I did my fundraiser for my local Relay for Life, I started the first week in April, but I offered the May - Help Whip Cancer Products Specials. Then I submitted the show on May 4th. This way the products were back by Mother's Day. That fundraiser was $4,482.50

Hope this helps

Thanks Teresa, that helps tons! I'll just be sure to let people know the items won't arrive until around Dec. 8 or so.

Thanks!
