OMG - I can't believe they're d/c'ing the Chipotle Ranch Dip Mix!

Since we are going to have the Chipotle Rub we may be able to make the dip with it..

When I was in the Product Show case after the closing session, I got some one on one time with the lady in the videos mixing the recipes. She is very nice and said that the new Chipotle seasoning could be used as a substitute. I am curious about the differences though

Why are they ditching the oval/mini oval baker and deep dish baker/mini baker? That surprises me, especially as there is not new stoneware pieces being added... are they thinking the DCB replaced the two larger ones? And maybe people don't order the smaller ones? I recently got the deep dish baker in green off of the outlet and I love it!

While I was at the airport waiting for my plane several people from HO were waiting in the same area for their planes after ours. I spoke for a long time with one of the sales managers and a friend asked her what makes an item be discontinued she said they have a list of the products that are selling the least. They use that list for the decisions.

As far as the stoneware - I very seldom sell those products. We did have a stop sell on the mini baker a few years ago but many people were demonstrating the latest recipe in that stone. Other than that, there may be very few sold. We may like them but with stones they aren't one of our top sellers. I was surprised by many of them but can bet that it is statistics that is the majority of the decision factor.

While some of have items we have sold a lot of (me - there are few items on that list I was bummed about) BUT we may be one of a few and so we loose items we like. It is obvious that they bring items back because of requests so if you are missing an item let them know.

I am bummed to see the guac go. I love it and make it all the time (at home and at shows). I also love the small round stone for making nachos and reheating leftovers. I guess I can see why most of the things are going though. I will for sure be making some calls very soon. I think this will work in my favor for getting some more orders in this month and next.

We use ours all the time too. I loved that it was another item that we could offer to fit in toaster ovens.

I sell lots of the Mini-Bakers - and always in cranberry, so I am glad they are keeping that color! I promote it as being great for hot dips and the perfect size for the boxed scalloped & augratin potato mixes. I sell a couple at nearly everyshow by telling them that! As for the small oval baker - I've only sold one in 3 years!

I think it's just b/c it was a seasonal color? I think it was the same way when they had the scrapers in turquoise, sea green and the other color in 2006. I do like the Cranberry though.

I agree, I am thinking it is like when we brought in the several different colors. Although it is slightly confusing considering we have so much cranberry in the line.

I am wondering if they don't make as many of a seasonal color item. It there is enough people who say they want them back in the cranberry it may be added to the line permanently. I need to check the catalog because sometimes they say they will only be available for a short time too.

Exactly! Plus, I always tell people it is one of the hidden treasures in the catalog! Less than $10, lifetime warranty, dishwasher safe....can't beat it! I sell a ton of them. The green one is double the price of the black one - I sure hope it's not the end for it!
I didn't know it was dishwasher safe. I've been hand washing it all along. I would really like the FC bread knife. It looks like now I'll have to get one. I don't like the green knife that I have.

Yep, I am also wondering if they aren't starting to phase out the French Vanilla. Maybe it is not as big of a seller as the Cranberry. Can you imagine how much room it takes to keep all those stones in the warehouse? Shoot, we have 3 different rectangle bakers - one Classic, one French Vanilla and one Cranberry and then to keep in enough in stock to fill orders of each one. Now do that for every piece of stoneware. Crazy,,, just crazy..

I completely agree... I love the mini/oval baker and the mini baker and I have sold lots of the small round stones. These are the pieces that are a great pitch for college, single and couples or starter/try me pieces.

Did anyone else notice how they're discontinuing the guac mix, BUT putting out a redesigned avocado knife? It struck me much like when they discontinued the coffee, THEN put out the scoop clip. Some of their decisions boggle my mind... I, too, am completely surprised over the number of stoneware pieces being discontinued. Fall should be interesting to see what comes out then...
Maybe they will bring out some more stones for the fall??!!

Going along with your mind boggle, years ago, about 5 or 6 years ago, they got rid of some really great salad tongs! I had quite a few people who loved them! So anyway they were gone effective the end of February and then on May 1st they started "Super Salad Summer!!!!":D   They brought out a ton of stuff that was geared towards salads! It baffled me then and still baffles me!!! LOL! Makes me shake my head a little in disbelief! Otherwise I love this company but sometimes I wonder who makes the decisions for discontinuing products? Because sometimes it just doesn't make sense!

The avocado peeler came back because of the Chicken Avocado and Grapefruit Salad. Same with the Grapefruit Knife, although the new version of that looks so much improved.

Thanks Joy!

I'm also surprised by the stones mentioned; also the small round stone. I love that one! I keep it in my microwave for reheating things.
Also the BBQ bag & Let's Eat cookbook...
