Will Good Thoughts Help Me During My MRI for a Possible Herniated Disk?

In summary, Laurie is going in for an MRI to determine if she has a herniated disk in her neck. She asks for good thoughts and prayers for a resolution to her pain. Others offer prayers and good thoughts as well. During the MRI, the technician starts asking concerning questions, causing Laurie to worry. She calls her doctor the next morning and finds out she has a bulge in her C7. She will see another doctor for a nerve test and possible injections, but no surgery is mentioned. Laurie is grateful for the prayers and support, but is also frustrated with the insensitivity of the technician during her MRI.

I am going in for MRI today at 2:00 pm (PST) to see if the Dr. was correct and I have a herniated disk in my neck. Could you please send some good thoughts my way that if it isn't a herniated disk, they see what it is so I can stop being in pain?

Thanks everyone and have a great day!

Prayers going your way, Laurie! Hope everything works out and that you feel better soon! (((HUGS)))

You're being lifted up in prayer, as I type!
God Bless!

Prayers said. Let us know the results!

good thoughts going to you.. for some sort of resolution and peace of mind for you!

Sending good thoughts your way!!

(Turns out what I told you about my DH was "several severe herniated discs in C4-7". I hope you get some relief. DH is doing phys. therapy and it seems to help some.

UpdateWell I had two MRI's done yesterday. The first one on my shoulder went well. Then the second one on my neck started off scary. The tec was one round into the MRI and she start's asking me questions like
"When was the last time you saw your dr?" End of July.
"Have you seen an orthopedic oncologist?" Uh, no.
"Are you going to see one?"I saw a specialist on August 11th for a benign growth on my left arm bone.
"Did they do a biopsy?" No.

Then she was gone and I layed there for at least 20 minutes without anyone saying anything to me. Then they started the MRI again, like nothing happened. The entire time I am laying there, my mind is running wild. Oh my God, I'm not going to see my boys' graduate. Grant will never see his brother's again if I die.

So this morning I called my Dr. and left a message what the tec was saying and for him to please call me and let me know what the result's were. The receptionist said she would have him call me as soon as he got in and they try to get me in before next Thursday, 9/4.

Back from the Dr's.I went and saw the Dr. at 11:30 and he is pissed at the tech for the way she acted yesterday and what she put me through.

He did see a bulge in my C7 in my neck, so I am going to see another doctor about a nerve test and possible injections into my neck. :yuck:

So far no surgery!

sometimes medical staff can be so insensitive! glad that so far there's no talk of surgery. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hoping that works for you---I dont know why my DH's dr. has waited this long to give him an injection. Let me know how it helps you! I want to push for that when we go back on the 15th.

And that was a terrible ordeal they put you thru during your mri.

You poor thing. On top of the regular amount of worry whenever you have medical tests, the tech added lots of additional stress to your plate.I'll be praying.

Don't you just hate techs that open their mouth? Sorry you had to go through that Laurie! Praying everything will come out fine for you ~

PS: Sometimes (not all techs) techs are "wanna be doctors" and think they know it all. Their training is FAR less! So keep your mouth SHUT!
