Okay, let me take this one question at a time so I don't forget:
On grocery list, I used to have a master list, but then I added the six recipes we got from home office, and dont have list for those yet.

Then I just recently started mailing my own invites out and what I used to make up is a 8 1/2 x 11 flyer telling all about Power cooking. I recently went to my print store and had them make up power cooking post cards so I would not have the expense of a first class stamp.

Last month I had a power cooking show a little of $1000, but there were 16 people there. Then I had one that was $400 with 5 people there. It is all about host coaching them to play up that this is no ordinary show!

I do not have a cost per each meal. I will work on that!

Amy - I think you've created a monster!:D A good one though!

LOVE all of the info!

Unfortunately, I haven't power cooked for myself this week and i have to go prepare dinner for 3 hungry kids, a husband and 2 cousins. If anyone wants to email me with questions, ideas, etc... and then I can email what I have for a flyer invitation!

Monster.... Me no monster...unless you mean a cookie monster!:)

Ok so another idea...no not question....

I am going to try and present this as a Cooking Club :chef: idea to a few groups who love PC and always buy lots!! :balloon: :balloon:

I was thinking of having groups of say 12 participate and they would have an option of the group they wanted to be in:

Option #1: spend $60 in PC products a month get a 10 meal plan each month- host would get a minimum of $140 in free, 3 half priced items, and a 25% discount

Option #2: spend $40 in PC products a month get a 5 meal plan each month- host would get a minimum of $60 in free, 2 half priced items, and a 25% discount.

I would price out the meals and have them all pay for their food up front and I will do their shopping for them!! I would love to have the 10 meal plan be $40 in food because then I can say for a $100 investment you can have 10 meals at only $10 each meal... heck that's even cheaper than McDonalds!!! And I can of course pool ingredients like the ones I mentioned in one of my last posts...and this would save everyone money!!!

I like the number of 12, because you can rotate houses one each month and everyone gets host benefits.

And 12 orders at a minimum of $60 would be a $720 show!!:D
And 12 orders at a minimum of $40 would be a $480 shows!!

Wouldn't it be nice to have a guarantee every month of this show? You could set it as the Second Tuesday of each month, so everyone knows when they join the group. Now if you aren't able to attend you will still have to purchase the products, but of course you don't have to pay for groceries.

I don't know about you guys, but at my stamp groups...there are months were I spend $100 even though I only need to spend $30...LOL:eek:

So am I crazy??? Does anyone else have any ideas or concerns or anything???

I'm burned out right now thinking too much today, but WILL look at your idea when I get home. It is a great idea. I need to see how it plays out and if feasible by me...I'm hoping so...

bumpity bump

No one is telling me I am crazy:cry: , guess that is a good thing...but some input would be nice!

I love that idea! I love that it could suit people of many budgets. Another way a person doesnt have to spend as much on pampered chef products herself is to collect her own outside orders for the person who is hosting that month.

To get more attendance at the party and to start more cooking clubs, you can give an incentive for bringing a guest to the show. One more meal on the month you host for each person you bring to the party!

Marlene thanks for sharing, I shared this idea with a potential host and she loved the idea of cooking once and eating twice w/o extra work in 1 week!!!

Yes, I would think you would need to refresh the guests every so often so that they didn't get burned out. How much PC can they buy? Especially if they were already really into PC.

I like the ideas shared here! I do a combination of Becky and Marlene's talk to "talk up" the power cooking. I was at a show on Sat. with mostly moms (some SAH, some WOH) and one lady literally jumped out of her chair and screamed "I'm doing that show!" when I mentioned the Power Cooking show.I said, "There are these great new shows we're offering that are awesome - I come to your house, prepare 3 meals, we eat 1 of them and the other 2 go into your freezer for your family! There are 5 delicious recipes to choose from, and that's all the work you have to do - pick the 3 recipes you want me to do and I'll do the rest!" The girl from Sat. was a first-time PC show attendee and she seemed really quiet and shy until I brought this up. Then, she was my Number One Fan and was so excited to get recipes made for her family! I just LOVE this concept, but I'm NOT an idea person - if someone provides the idea to me, I can TOTALLY sell it, but I can't come up with ideas to save my life. So, keep 'em coming, girls!! :D

these ideas are great. It goes along with my 4 meals in 4 minutes idea...that I "stole" from my Homemade Gourmet consultant.

I would love to see the flyer/invitation and anything else you don't mind sharing by email.

Forgive me if you've posted it before, but I don't think I've heard about this-- can you share that with those of us who haven't heard it?

Wow~what fun ideas here! I'm excited about this show opportunity; really awesome for working moms.....I've got a realtor friend that I think this would be great for her & her co-workers.
Love the cooking club idea!

loving it!!!

Here is what I say...

Do any of you stand at the refrigerator at 5 pm wondering "what's for dinner?" How many of you know if you stand there long enough gazing into the fridge that dinner will make itself? (laugh) How many of you would like to learn how to cook once for 2 weeks? Yep that's right ladies, you can get 10 meals done in 1 day! And when you host the show you get to start with a couple meals that I make for you and your family!!

I don't know if this will make a difference on your getting power cooking shows, but it has worked for me!! HTH:)

You are GOOD!!!!!!!

Seems I might have been a little confusing about my last post. When I introduce the Power Cooking show with the 10 meals, I don't do 10 :yuck: at the show I just teach them how to do this for themselves. I also suggest power cooking with a friend or two, I explain that it is a good excuse to have a girl's afternoon or evening. I even suggest opening a bottle of wine or mix up a batch of margeritas (if you drink) for the planning. I then warn to make sure it is only 1 bottle or 1 batch because you actually want to be able to eat the meals you make!!:D

I have attached a couple things I use for power cooking. I am not the originator of these, but they are fabulous!! Now of course, we can add the PC Power Cooking recipes!!

THANKS for sharing all your ideas!!! They are wonderful!
I learn something new each time I come here.

I have been having power cooking shows for awhile. I booked 5 last night. The guests are interactive and they help to make 7 meals for the host, and make one for themselves. We can get them all done in 45 minutes. Who wouldn't want to book a party and have someone make their meals for the week?:chef:

Can you come and do a show for me? :)

Can't wait to start using some of these ideas - but I do have to say, I don't think I'll be doing cooking clubs.....I am trying to keep things as simple as possible in my business, and I just can't see adding this dimension to it too. I'm lazy,:o and that just seems like too much work!

You're not lazy. You're already working hard and doing great. No need to add another dimension to your job.
I wanted to add that when I've mentioned the Power Cooking to only two hosts, who both wanted it, I said they could serve one of the three meals to their guests or freeze all three meals and serve their guests an easy appetizer or dessert. Personally, it is not appetizing to me at all to eat one of those things at a show if I were the guest. I only get dessert and appetizers when I'm at a get- together/show type thing. I don't want meal food. The first host is choosing to keep the three meals. Dont' know about the second, yet.

That is such a good idea! You could have a Trifle premade or something like that......oh - I just love that idea!

I totally agree, and wouldn't want a whole meal, either. I can see my hosts wanting to freeze all three.

This Power cooking show is a great reason to start calling hosts, guests and recruit leads that you haven't talked to in awhile! Let them know that having a show is now easier and more productive than ever! I booked 7 power cooking shows in the last 2 nights! My Feb is FULL and I have 4 march shows already! It can be done.

I've copied off Post #11 of this thread. Thank you so much Marlene. After reading #51 and 52, it makes sense to offer the pre-made dessert, and let the hostess have the benefit of three meals ready for her family. I really think that will help me with my bookings. Thanks for all your wonderful sharing. It gives me a very positive energy to get to my phone calls.

Thank you!Thats what I love about helping others! :o The feeling you get when someone says thanks!! Thats what I love about my Directorship!!:)

So are you back to recommending CS to your recruits? ;)

Kim...I'm sorry, I didn't read through all the posts until now.

The 4 meals in 4 minutes idea came from my HomeMade Gourmet consultant. I buy a large bag of frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts at Sam's...or from our grocery supplier for the restaurant. Into 4 different freezer bags I put 5 chicken breasts (still frozen). Then add:

1st bag...4 tsp. southwest seasoning and 1 can of Rotel tomatoes.
2nd bag...4 tsp. rosemary seasoning and 1 can of chicken broth.
3rd bag...4 tsp. italian seasoning and 1 can of stewed tomatoes.
4th bag...I repeat southwest seasoning and 1 can of Rotel tomatoes.

close your bags and then "squish" all of it together so the seasoning mixes with the liquid and gets onto the chicken. Then place the bags into the freezer. You can put them into the fridge overnight to thaw and then in the morning you can throw them into your crockpot if you know you will be rushed for dinner, or you can put them into the DCB or rectangle baker when you get home. Add some vegetables, rice or pasta and your meal is complete. I can see using any of the rubs and adding whatever liquid base you like. You don't precook anything.

The HomeMade Gourmet lady pushes this by saying to pull your meal out of the freezer and putting it directly into the crockpot...they have seasoning packets to add to the liquid. I have a friend who is a dietician who says you have to be careful with crockpots because you want the chicken to stay at the correct temp for the right amount of time. With the new crockpots they heat up pretty fast, so that shouldn't be an issue, but with older models it could be a health issue.

I sent this idea to HO 2 years ago and received an email saying it was a good idea and that I should try it, but because they hadn't tested the ingredients they couldn't recommend doing it.

Here are a few more easy recipes with the frozen chicken breasts:

Put chkn in bag, then squeeze in caesar salad dressing with pressed garlic.
We served it on buns, salad and I liked it plain.

Sqeeze in Italian Dressing, garlic pressed and a little lime zest

Bottle Teryaki Sauce & some chopped onions, garlic pressed and spash of vinegar. Serve with rice.

BBQ Chicken - 1 c. mild salsa
1 c. ketchup
1/3 c. brown sugar
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

mix in bowl, then add to your bag of chicken. This is my Favorite:chef:

I have more if anyone is interested.

Keep them coming Amy - if we don't use them now, I know I will refer back to this thread later.
