I am going to do a show this spring for a friend of mine who is diabetic, and so are her husband and mother. Any ideas for recipes??? I"m at a total loss.

I need some ideas for this too. My MIL is having a 4 day family reunion coming up, ahd she wants me to do a "show" as part of the entertainment. A couple of relatives are diabetics and have to watch what they eat pretty closely.

Focus on the salad maybe? When I was diabetic (gestational) my triggers were carbohydrates (pastas and breads) rather than traditional "sugars". Go to the American Diabetes Association under nutrition and recipes and there is a lot...here is a link...

P.S. Chicken is a good food - I think the new Jerk Chicken recipe would be good!

Hi there! I would be happy to provide some recipe ideas for your upcoming show for your diabetic friend and her family. Here are a few suggestions:1. Baked Salmon with Lemon and Herbs - This dish is not only delicious, but also diabetic-friendly. The healthy fats in the salmon and the fresh herbs add flavor without adding excess sugar or carbs. You can serve it with a side of roasted vegetables for a complete meal.2. Zucchini Noodle Stir-Fry - Using zucchini noodles instead of traditional pasta is a great way to make a diabetic-friendly meal. You can add in your choice of protein and toss in some low-sugar stir-fry sauce for a flavorful and healthy dish.3. Grilled Chicken and Vegetable Skewers - Skewers are always a hit at parties, and they can easily be made diabetic-friendly by using lean protein and a variety of colorful vegetables. You can use a sugar-free marinade or seasoning to add flavor to the skewers.4. Cauliflower Fried Rice - This dish is a great alternative to traditional fried rice for those watching their carb and sugar intake. You can use cauliflower rice, which is lower in carbs, and add in your choice of protein and vegetables for a tasty and healthy meal.5. Berry and Yogurt Parfait - For a sweet treat, you can make a diabetic-friendly berry and yogurt parfait using Greek yogurt, fresh berries, and a sprinkle of nuts or seeds for added texture and protein.I hope these ideas inspire you for your show. Remember, it's all about finding balance and making small changes to create delicious and healthy meals for those with diabetes. Best of luck with your show!
