Wear the black dress and accessorize it with a cute pair a heels...like red and then some a bracelet or something else to match.

I work as an event and banquet sales director (i.e. wedding coordinator) at a private country club and I've seen so many different styles at weddings. The important thing to remember is that you will always look better than the crazy aunt and that the attention is on the bride...even though we all want the attention to be on us right? ;)

Go ahead, wear the same dress to multiple events. You could always change your accessories. My favorite little black dress I wore to three different weddings last year (that had similar guest lists). At the third wedding on the season, my best friend (who also attended the other weddings) asked me where I got my new dress. I just laughed.

Have fun at the weddings. I have eight weddings this year to date and am expected a couple more invitations. Gotta love this age though since most of my business is coming from wedding registries.

Tricia - I remember one year I had 8 weddings to go to - I was in 3 of them - 2 were out state and I was pregnant at 7 of them! I always say that my son Noah has been to more weddings than anyone (in utero of course!) Too bad I wasn't in PC then (this was 10 years ago):)

I've gone deep in to the archives to resurface this thread! Thanks for all of the opinions, I did wear my black dress to 2 weddings this summer (and found another dress to wear to the other 2) ....here's a pic of my boyfriend and I from this past weekend. (it was to hot to wear any of the "colorful" sweaters with it, but I think the pearls and strappy small heel shoes did a good enough job with it!)http://a89.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/72/l_f2ae58e5ee1d0c3d544b1d96d37b09d0.jpg

Thanks girls ;) .....yes, something did work! It wasn't any of that online stuff though...I literally met Don days after I paid big bucks for those online things!...I am in my 2nd position here at the college due to a promotion, but I still keep in touch with all of the ladies from my 1st area. They all love the girl that filled my position...she's "just like me" ....great family values, etc.... then one day she mentioned her 25 year old brother.....and they all went crazy, "is he single" ....blah blah.... needless to say we finally got connected and talked on the phone for a couple of weeks, then went on a "blind" date! ...and it has been bliss ever since....almost 4 months :)....and this past weekend (the photo above) was his sisters wedding!

I used to be a bridal consultant for a local bridal shop here, and I got this question all the time. IMHO, I would tell them that black was fine, especially, if that preferred, at night formal weddings. A lot of people go by what the bride wants. My wedding was deep red and both Mother of the Bride and Groom wore black, my choice. My cousins whole wedding wore black with long elbow length gloves it was so elegant! Last year the latest color for bridesmaids and mothers was white (yes white), ivory, and champagne! I had my reservations but it looked really nice actually... But any ways I think it depends on each individual situation... and like I said IMHO, black is ok ;)

You look lovely, Jennifer. You made a good choice. (Sounds like you did pretty well picking an escort as well. :))

Not saying that he isn't secure but she did say that it was his sister's wedding...maybe he was in the wedding and he HAD to wear pink. He looks like a very "secure" man though.

The guys in my wedding (23 years ago!!) wore pink bow ties and cumberbunds. My dad was SO mad at me because I wanted him to wear pink too :D Looking back...poor guy, I should have cut him some slack!

My Baby Boy says it takes a real man to wear pink. He also says it takes a real man to sing like a woman. (He sings first tenor. :))

You ladies are right, it was his sisters wedding, so he had no choice...all of the men wore pink, but don didn't really complain at all! he complained more because he "wasted" $120 on a tux, and just the fact that he had to wear a tux! (this is a guy that operates heavy equipment for an excavation company....and grew up on a farm, so most of his clothes have holes and are really dirty! you could tell he was trying to impress on our first date when he had a new pair of jeans on, with a belt, and a nice plaid button up shirt on...hehehe) ...but I like my country boys! I'd rather have a down and dirty guy rather than a pretty boy any day....

I have 2-3 weddings to attend this summer, and I seem to find all black dresses that I like....I think that I like the "slimming" factor....

I have done it in the past, but I feel guilty to wear all black, especially in the summer...what are your thoughts?

Add color with your accessories :)
