I have some letters I want to mail out to some area businesses. Can I just fold them in half and tape them, address them and put a stamp on them? I wanted to save on envelopes! Will the post office send this?

If you are sending to a business I would definitly use an envelope.

I agree. You can get a box of envelopes at the dollar store for $1.

...and remember to follow up with each business after a few days!

I normally would put them in envelopes, but all I have here are the pull and seal security envelopes and I didn't want to make a trip out to the store. I will go out and get some though. For future reference, can you just tape a flyer together and mail it? I guess I will type up the labels also.

Former postal employee here. Yes, the Post Office will send it, but if you just tape it, or staple it, you have some loose edges that can sometimes get caught in the sorting machines, ripping it to shreds. Also, if you've received any of those tri-fold taped flyers in the mail, they tear easily when you open them. Use envelopes!

What kind of impresion do you want to make? You want to look professional and be taken seriously - right? Use an envelope. Remember, you only have one chance to make a first impression.
