Oh, I can't wait to try this!!

When I was stationed in Italy years ago, we used to go to Venice just to go to Wendy's! There was actually one there hidden in all the narrow walkways.

In Venice Italy for Wendy's that seems so crazy but when I went to Germany for a month to visit my brother we went to McD's once it was very expensive.

WOOOOHHHOOOOOO!!!! Did you all see the email from HO?? They fixed our shipping!!

As of April 23, all orders placed on your site which are requested to be shipped to an APO/FPO address will now be charged the lower shipping rate equal to that of the continental 48 states. This is for both ship to host orders as well as direct ship orders. This means that any orders placed prior to April 23 for Shows dated April 23 and forward will have the old higher rate. When you enter these orders into your PamperedPartner®/PamperedPartner® Plus, they will be entered with the lower rate. You may want to inform these guests that they will be charged the lesser amount.

WOOOHOOOO!!!! I am going to have some very happy customers. And some very pissed off ones too since they got stuck paying that extra $5!! But in the long run, YEAH!!!

Starting April 23rd, we are no longer charging the extra $5.00 right?
I've lost one order from a customer because of shipping so I'll have to call her back. :)

After that email came out, I got another one that invited me to a conference call on Wednesday. Did you guys get that too? Of course, it's not until 5pm CST so we can fill everyone in on Thursday morning. I am wondering what will be left to be said two days after the change?

Just be sure to change all of your shows that are open to reflect Monday's date so the customers can get the cheaper rate!!!

I was considering participating in the conference call (got the e-mail too).

I just had a show yesterday. Now, if I change the date to lower the shipping, I have to deal with getting all those folks their $5 back. And it was a BIG show! How would you handle this? Just mail them $5 (not that I'd ever use the APO system to do that) or offer them another product? Maybe a free rub?

Will you see them at another show or be able to call/email them to offer them $5 off their next order?

If not, I think you can offer a free product that goes with whatever else they have ordered (ex. if they ordered bbq stuff give a rub, if they ordered cookbooks maybe a set of recipe cards, if they ordered baking stuff a pie gate, stoneware-nylon scrapers, etc).

IMO, I think they will just be thrilled that you are going to save them the $5 and will be amiable to whatever works best for you and them. I would think that most of us in this community are going to be thrilled to hear that you have the good customer service and the integrity to give them the best deal, instead of ripping them off.

I will probably talk to you Wednesday night on the conference call, be sure to get a nap in.......it will be a late night!!

I'm so happy to hear that change and my customers will too!

Debi,

I agree with Stephanie: tell them the great news and then ask: "Would you like me to mail you a check for $5 or would you like to treat yourself and just simply add to your order, such as one of our great spices...or another item around $5. I know it isn't exactly free, but it kinda feels that way, doesn't it?"

I'm really glad they're removing the surcharge...but I did comparison pricing on the USPS site. The company is still paying out of pocket on A LOT of our orders...even with the extra $5. In this case, I'm glad we are such a small percentage of sales....so they can afford to do this for us!

In May postage is suppose to go up again. So how can PC lower our shipping with the prices going up?
