I Dropped the Ball... What Do I Do Now?

In summary, Colleen is feeling terrible about the party she was supposed to have on Monday that is not happening because she forgot to send the guest list to her lead. She is sad because she was hoping to get the extra free product value for the January event. She and her host decided to do it in February so that the original date would still count.

Okay ladies... help needed!

I had a HO lead that scheduled a show for Monday. We set the date back in October. All was good... I sent the 3 host coaching letters and started my host coaching 3 weeks ago and kept leaving message after message.

She called me tonight and told me she e-mailed me her guest list before Christmas. I never got it! :( She was totally planning on the party Monday and is really really really bummed that no one has been invited. She's been away for the last 3.5 weeks (which I remembered after she told me she was going away and that's why we picked Monday). So she gets home this afternoon to all of my messages about the party on Monday that is not happening because I dropped the ball.

She used her work computer that has her guest list on it and won't be at work until Friday night and she REALLY wants the January extra free product value special.

I told her we could do it in Feb before the 12th, I would still date it as the original date so she would get the extra but I am feeling TERRIBLE about this. I should have been more diligent in checking in with her and made a note SOMEWHERE about her being away.

Should I offer her something as an I'm-sorry-I-totally-screwed-up gift?

Thoughts???

There is a chance she didn't email the list to you and is just covering her ass. I would just make sure she gets to at least $500 in sales to get her the extra free product. Maybe work with her guest list before the show and get February bookings so she can get the host specials again.

Oh bummer! That sucks! I agree about getting to $500. Hopefully that won't be a problem. If you have some extra products sitting around, maybe bring something extra for her. It's possible to still try to do it Monday if she gets on the phone after getting her guest list. Does she remember anyone she invited? She (maybe you could help?) could just start making lots of calls. Maybe with it being a Monday, I wouldn't think most people have lots of plans. If it's a bust, then maybe reschedule for Feb and use the original date? I'm so sorry!! And I suppose Kate's right...who knows what really happened! She can't log into her work email from home? If so, she could re-send the email with the guest list??

Bummer!! Yes, I'd offer something to her that you have extra. If not, I'd offer the host special to her (I wouldn't go over $30) for free or half price.

Thanks ladies! It never occurred to me that she was covering her butt... I don't think negatively of people like that. I was going to offer her the January for her show if we reschedule before Feb 12th and with the special which she needs to hit $500 regardless to get the extra free value so no worries there. When I moved I got rid of all of my excess inventory ... Kristi, I think I'll run with your idea! Thanks for your input!!! We'll see what happens!

good luck Colleen! I bought the host special for my host in January just so i could close it out in time for January triple points. :) It was worth it for me!!

1. How do I clean up the mess after dropping the ball?

To clean up any mess caused by dropping the ball, start by using a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe up any spills or residue. If there are any remaining stains or stubborn messes, use a mild dish soap and warm water to gently scrub the area. Rinse with clean water and dry with a towel.

2. Can I salvage the food that was in the dish when I dropped the ball?

In most cases, the food in the dish can still be salvaged even if the dish was dropped. If the food is still in its original packaging or container, check for any cracks or leaks before consuming. If the food was directly on the dish, closely inspect for any broken pieces of glass or ceramic. If none are found, the food should be safe to eat.

3. What should I do if the dish I dropped was a family heirloom or sentimental item?

If the dish that was dropped holds sentimental value, it may be difficult to part with. In this case, consider taking it to a professional ceramic or glass repair specialist. They may be able to repair the dish and restore it to its original state.

4. Is it safe to use the dish again after it has been dropped?

If there are visible cracks or chips in the dish, it is not safe to use again. Even small cracks can compromise the structural integrity of the dish and make it more prone to breaking in the future. It is better to err on the side of caution and replace the dish.

5. How can I prevent dropping a dish in the future?

To prevent dropping a dish in the future, make sure to handle dishes with care and avoid carrying too many at once. Additionally, using a non-slip grip mat or towel underneath the dish can help prevent it from slipping out of your hands. When storing dishes, make sure to stack them securely and avoid placing heavy items on top of delicate dishes.
