I always find an answer on this board, so here's my question.

I have a dark red microfiber couch that could use a good cleaning. There are no visible stains, but DS and I eat/drink while sitting on it, and my smaller dog keeps us company on it.

I do not want to pay a lot of $$ to have it cleaned professionally. What should I use?

Thanks as always!

you're a sweetheart, janet - thanks so much!

I put a tiny bit of Woolite in water. Then I use a white dishcloth and gently massage or rub the bad spots. Then I use a dry, white dishcloth to soak up any excess water.

We have had a ChemDry company come and prof clean ours - it cost close to $400. But he recommended Mineral Water and a damp cloth

I find that baby wipes work for a few things - but not a lot

I have been using NORWEX Carpet and Stain Remover with a EnviroCloth

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to clean a microfiber couch?

The best way to clean a microfiber couch is to use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove loose dirt and debris. After vacuuming, you can use a solution of mild dish soap and water or a specialized microfiber cleaner. Test the solution on a small, inconspicuous area first, then apply it with a soft cloth, gently scrubbing in circular motions.

Can I use water to clean my microfiber couch?

It depends on the type of microfiber. Some microfiber fabrics are water-safe, while others are not. Check the care tag on your couch. If it has a "W," you can use water-based cleaners. If it has an "S," use a solvent-based cleaner instead. Always test any cleaner on a small area first.

How do I remove stains from my microfiber couch?

To remove stains, first blot the area with a clean cloth to absorb any excess liquid. For water-safe fabrics, use a mixture of water and mild soap. For solvent-safe fabrics, use rubbing alcohol or a specialized upholstery cleaner. Apply the cleaner to a cloth, dab it on the stain, and gently rub until the stain lifts. Rinse the area with a damp cloth afterward.

Can I machine wash my microfiber couch covers?

If your microfiber couch has removable covers, check the care label for washing instructions. Most microfiber covers can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with cold water. Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach. Air dry or tumble dry on low heat to prevent shrinking.

How often should I clean my microfiber couch?

It's recommended to clean your microfiber couch every 3 to 6 months, depending on usage and the presence of pets or children. Regular vacuuming can help maintain its appearance, while deeper cleaning should be done as needed to remove stains and dirt buildup.
