I've got a few catalog shows booked out of town & out of state and would like to do something to give these hosts incentive to have their friends book a catalog show, too. At this point, I still don't know what that would be so I'm open for suggestions? Should I do something for each show that's booked or if she gets X number of shows booked? Ideas, anyone?

Whatever you do, I would give her anything until the shows are actually held! I got burnt with this selling jewelry and totally learned from that mistake!

I think both options are fine. Maybe say xxx for each booking, but if you get 3 or more, you get xxx.

I usually write on the order forms that I will take 10% off the order if they book a show

I would never give the perk before the show is held. Offer "something extra" or say what you will give them but giving the prize before the show happens gives them no incentive to actually do the party.

What I tell all of my hosts is that if they get two bookings (catalog or cooking) BEFORE their show, I will give them $50 in free product at the second show. It doesn't always work, or one show of the two will cancel but it has worked once and I am still working off of the one chain that worked back in August!

Don't forget you can offer them the booking benefit. That's huge!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are some effective incentives I can offer to catalog show hosts?

Consider offering a tiered rewards system where hosts can earn different incentives based on the number of bookings they secure. This could include discounts on products, free items, or exclusive access to new products. Additionally, you might offer a special bonus for hosts who achieve a certain number of bookings within a specific timeframe.

How can I motivate hosts to reach out to their network for bookings?

Provide your hosts with a list of potential guests from their network and tips on how to approach them. You can also create a fun challenge or contest among hosts, where they can win prizes for the most bookings secured. This adds an element of excitement and encourages them to actively engage their contacts.

What types of communication should I use to keep hosts engaged?

Utilize a mix of communication methods, including personalized emails, text messages, and social media. Regular check-ins can help keep hosts motivated and informed about their progress. Consider hosting a virtual meeting or webinar to share tips and success stories, which can inspire them to pursue more bookings.

How can I help hosts feel confident in asking for bookings?

Provide hosts with scripts or conversation starters that they can use when reaching out to friends and family. Role-playing scenarios can also help them practice their pitches. Additionally, share success stories from other hosts to demonstrate that asking for bookings can lead to positive outcomes.

What role does product knowledge play in incentivizing hosts?

Having a strong understanding of the products can empower hosts to confidently promote them to potential guests. Offer training sessions or resources that help hosts learn about the benefits and features of the products. When hosts are knowledgeable, they are more likely to engage their network and secure bookings.
