Well, my host for Saturday called and canceled tonight. I was really counting on her show to put me at over $2000 in sales this month. Guess that's what I get for counting my chickens before they hatch. I'm just very frustrated because now I have no bookings for August at all. I had hoped to get some at her party. I have called several people trying to get parties and nothing yet. I'm just very disappointed and a bit discouraged. I do have stuff booked for September and even october but I don't like having a month without anything. Any advice? Thanks!
God bless,
Amanda

Re: DisappointedShe's talking about october. No specific date. She's possibly starting to work full time on Monday. School starts here on Monday and she said everyone was saying they wouldn't be able to come. I'm sure she will reschedule but I'm just disappointed. I'd already mailed her the host packet which was almost $5 and another host I had (for August) cancelled and they're packet was almost $5 to send. Now I'm out $10 for those two plus, having to resend their packets when they decide their date. That's another $10. money is very tight here in my family. I was counting on all of these parties this month so that I'd still have money to buy fall/winter supplies and a couple of samples. I was only planning on getting the santuko knife and the very small package that came with the cheese grater, sprinkles, and another thing or two. Plus my web site is coming up for review. Seems everything's hitting at once. It'd work out a bit better if I could get some shows for August. Sorry, I am just having a pity party tonight. :(

Re: DisappointedI'm so sorry this happend. I know how this feels, trust me.

There are some great posts on here on how to find bookings. Try to do a search on "bookings." There are very creative ways to find business, you just have to be determined to do it. It's hard when you get depressed, but you have to learn to take the ups and downs with this business. That was the hardest thing for me to learn. The ups are usually more then the downs though - so stick with it! It's worth it!!

Re: DisappointedI've called almost every lead I have. I hadn't broken out of my circle too much until this month and none of the parties I had this month were interested in August. I would host my own show but most of who I know have already bought recently. I may do one of those phone/email sales. I am also planning on doing a fall kick off in Sept. I do need to try the pampering a business. Thank you all for your responses so far.

Re: Disappointedsorry Amanda- at least maybe they'll reschedule? maybe have a sneak peek in August or a fall open house ? good luck..
