Joy,

When I send my newsletter, should my readers be able to get to my Facebook profile (wall, whatever it's called) when they click on that icon?

If so, what do I need to do to make that happen.

Thank you!

You need to log into TTConnect and click on the profile tab. About halfway down, there are 2 new fields for you to enter the URL for your Facebook page and Twitter page. Once you put it in there, it should automatically link into the facebook and twitter icons in the newsletters.

Do I have to have a certain number of friends to have a URL? (I thought I read something like on CS) If not (or even if so), can someone tell me how I get this?

Thank you. . .I'm still waiting on my Facebook class. ;) As you can tell, I need it.

For a profile, you don't need a certain number of friends. You can go to Login | Facebook to set your personal URL. If you set up a Page, then you'll need 25 fans to set up a URL.

You need to have 25 fans on a business page in order to request a personalized URL, but you can put ANY URL in that field... even if it's the generic link that Facebook provides (might be like www . facebook . com / pages / ElkGrove / xxxxxx or something like that). Once you get your personal one, you can update it on your profile. So just copy and paste your "main page" from facebook and that should work for now.

Thank you, Joy. Is my main page the "wall"?

On a fan page, you can specify which tab you want people to land on when they come to your page. On a personal page, I think you can too, because sometimes I land on their info tab and most of the time I land on the wall. You should be able to specify it in the options area.

I'm confused. Tried to copy and paste the information showing (the http stuff) when I'm on my wall but that's not working. It taking me to this:
http://http//www.facebook.com/profile.phpWhen I click on that, it takes me to the right place but I'm certain this is not the correct way.

When you fill it into your TT profile, start at the www part. You're ending up with the http:// twice, which is probably the issue. Also, it's taking you to your profile, because you're already logged in, but it won't take your customers to you.

Go to www.facebook.com/username and pick a username. Then use that link to put into your TT profile.

This is the message that I get at that address:Before you can set your username, you need to verify your account.
If you have a mobile phone that can receive SMS message, you can verify via mobile phone. If not, please try to register your username at a later time.
I don't know what an SMS message is.(I'm really not an idiot, really)

SMS = Short Messaging Service...aka text message. :) And no, you're not an idiot...really. I used to be a trainer at a call center and about 85% of the adults there over 25 didn't know what SMS stood for. So you're not alone. ;)

You should be able to verify your FB account without using your phone. Did you receive an email with a link to click?

Tasty Tidbits is a newsletter service offered by Joy. It is not offered by Home Office, and there is a cost to it. Home Office does offer a newsletter service now, and the newsletters do go out automatically (or at least they're supposed to).

You can read more about HO's newsletter service on CC. You can find out about TT on Joy's website: http://www.tastytidbits.net.
