Thank you for the confirmation. I have a pumpkin hazelnut torte recipe I want to make in them tomorrow. :)

I love the torte pans. It takes less time to bake and cool cake layers, and I like to fill them with yummy fillings. I don't feel the need to frost nicely with these, either.

wow - It hasnt even occured to me that there would be less baking time... hmmm, I wonder how long brownies will take....

:p

I am waiting sooooooooo patiently for my set. It should be here any day now... at least I am hoping! I cant wait to get it. I have so many ideas, alot with brownie bases... so I guess trial and error may be forthcomming in the first torte or two.

I want mine too! I hope they get here soon, I haven't actually sent the order in though LOL! Waiting on the show to close! hehe... my best friend was a little shy of $150 so I added the pans for myself!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Torte Pans Equal 2 9" Round Cake Pans?

No, torte pans and 9" round cake pans are not the same. A torte pan typically has a removable bottom and is designed for making layered cakes or tortes, while a standard 9" round cake pan does not have a removable bottom and is used for baking traditional cakes.

Can I use a torte pan instead of two 9" round cake pans?

You can use a torte pan to make a cake that would typically require two 9" round cake pans, but the baking time may vary. Since a torte pan is deeper, it may take longer for the cake to bake through compared to two shallower pans.

What is the difference in depth between a torte pan and a 9" round cake pan?

A torte pan is usually deeper than a standard 9" round cake pan. While a typical 9" round cake pan is about 2 inches deep, a torte pan can be around 3 inches deep, which allows for thicker cakes or multiple layers.

Do I need to adjust baking times when using a torte pan?

Yes, when using a torte pan instead of two 9" round cake pans, you may need to adjust the baking time. It's advisable to start checking for doneness a few minutes earlier than the recipe suggests, as deeper pans can require additional time to cook through.

Are there any special tips for using a torte pan?

When using a torte pan, it's important to grease and flour the pan properly to ensure easy release. Additionally, consider using parchment paper on the bottom for extra protection. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing it to prevent breakage.
