I have a customer interested in the Cookie Press. She is curious if she could use the (Pillsbury) cookie "tube" dough you can buy at the grovery store. I said I had never tried that and wasn't sure -- but that someone on here could answer my question. Thanks in advance.

I think if you let it sit out and get to room temperature and add a little flour to it that it should work.

I've never done it myself - but I know there's a recipe for peanut butter cookies that uses the tube and you add peanut butter...

I think if you mix in 1/4 cup flour it will work in the press just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use store-bought cookie dough with the Cookie Press?

Yes, you can use store-bought cookie dough with the Cookie Press. However, it's important to choose a dough that is not too soft or sticky, as this can affect the pressing process. Chilling the dough for a short time can help achieve better results.

What types of store-bought dough work best with the Cookie Press?

Store-bought doughs that are designed for cookies, such as sugar cookie or gingerbread dough, typically work best with the Cookie Press. Avoid doughs that are overly soft or designed for other types of baking, like brownies or cakes.

Do I need to adjust the baking time when using store-bought dough with the Cookie Press?

Generally, you won't need to adjust the baking time significantly when using store-bought dough. However, it's always a good idea to monitor the cookies closely, as different doughs can vary in baking time. Start checking for doneness a minute or two earlier than the package instructions suggest.

Can I mix different types of store-bought doughs in the Cookie Press?

It's not recommended to mix different types of store-bought doughs in the Cookie Press, as they may have different consistencies and baking requirements. For best results, stick to one type of dough at a time to ensure even pressing and baking.

How do I clean the Cookie Press after using store-bought dough?

Cleaning the Cookie Press is simple. After use, disassemble the press and wash all removable parts in warm, soapy water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scrubbers to prevent scratching. Make sure to dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling or storing.
