Consultants facing similar challenges with hosts regarding payment may find the shared experiences and strategies relevant to their own situations.

I always get a signed check from my hosts at their show before I leave. I then tell them I will call them with a total so they know what to write in their checkbook. This way I don't have to worry about getting paid later. Either that or you can ask for a credit card or debit card#. Good Luck!

I have suggested this a couple times but most people are VERY wary of giving anyone a blank check. I don't think I would do it either.

I had this happen to me one time in my almost 6 years of PC experience. After that time I ALWAYS have the guests write their checks to me not to the hostess. Then all she has to do is give me money for her amount!! That has worked great and the host lke it because they don't have to worry about other peoples checks.

I am wondering how you are able to call ups and have a package delievered at a different address insted of the intended address? I can understand why you would want to have that done but how does UPS know that you aren't just some person tyring to get other people's packages?

I couldn't even get the UPS man to deliver a package to me 3 blocks away when I moved! They sent it back to the sender and he had to resend it to my new address.

they won't do this because you are not the sender. Also if you know anything about small claims you now it is a waste of time, just because you get a judgement doesn't mean you will see the money, you usually just end up further "in debt"

The best advice Ican give is ifyou are going to pay out of pocket to cover someone, ship it to your house. The one host I had like this I wouldn't give her any of the shipment until she paid me. I'm mean though, I even called the guests and explained that i had there products and they could pick them up from me or wait till she paid. I even called the guests who's check she cashed and told her that until her items were paid for she couldn't have them, the host paid with in 3 days.

You can only learn from your mistakes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if my host hasn't sent the check yet?

If your host hasn't sent the check yet, it's best to reach out to them directly. Politely ask if they have had a chance to send it and if they need any assistance with the process. Sometimes, life gets busy, and a gentle reminder can help.

How long should I wait before following up with my host?

It's generally a good idea to wait about a week after the event before following up. This gives your host some time to gather the funds and send the check. If it's been longer than that, a friendly reminder is appropriate.

What if my host says they sent the check but I haven't received it?

If your host insists that they sent the check, ask them to confirm the date and method of sending. It might be helpful to check if they used a tracking service or if they can provide any proof of mailing. If the check is lost in the mail, you may need to discuss alternative payment methods.

Can I still host a party if my host is unresponsive?

Yes, you can still host a party even if your current host is unresponsive. Consider reaching out to another potential host or rescheduling with the original host after giving them some time to respond. Communication is key, so try to keep the lines open.

What are my options if the host refuses to pay?

If the host refuses to pay, review your agreement with them and any communication regarding the payment. You may need to have a direct conversation to resolve the issue. If it escalates, consider discussing the situation with your upline or Pampered Chef support for guidance on how to proceed.
