Anyone Receive Their Suprise Boxes Yet?

In summary, Tracy received her surprise boxes from HO on Monday and Tuesday. She's excited to open them and share the contents with her fellow conference attendees.

I had mine FedExed from conference....one Monday and one Tuesday. I cannot wait to get them! Just wondering if anyone got theirs yet. I live in AZ.

I couldn't go to conference this year, so my friend got me some boxes and shipped them to me. I got them yesterday, Wed. about 12:30 or so. So I don't know if she bought them Mon. or Tues.

It was sooooo much fun going through the boxes.

Christmas in July!! Woo Hoo

Tracy

Not yet and I bought them on Monday.

I have not got mine yet but I also have not checked on the tracking either. I bought mine on Tuesday night.

I bought one yesterday morning, and it was delivered this morning! I'm in the Detroit area, and usually things take 2 days from HO.

Tracking....BRILLIANT! I hadn't thought to check that. I better go dig out my shipping receipts. Thanks!

It usually only takes 2 days for stuff to ship to me too from HO so I am assuming I should get mine by tomorrow for sure! I can't wait as I also put a shirt from Merrill in there as well as some mini catalogs, etc.

I got mine today and I bought it Tuesday. I bought one Wednesday and carried it home (part of my luggage struggle!).

That was fun! I will definitely buy more boxes next year. I'm going to use most of the stuff for give aways. A few for gifts.

OK I tracked them both down, and the first is scheduled to be delivered TODAY (yippee!!!) and the other should be here tomorrow.

What did you all get?

I don't know if they can tell you because it's a surprise for the wave 2 and wave 3 conference attendees. It's a surprise until you see everyone else opening their boxes.

  • #12
Actually, since the surprise boxes are discontinued things, they're usually OK to discuss. ;)I got some old SBRCs, some bread tubes, old can opener.... I got one of the "ancient" boxes (there are themes this year).

  • #13
What types of themes?

  • #14
I don't remember the exact names, but they essentially were:"Ancient" - real blast-from-the-past items that have been out of the catalog for at least a couple of years
"Consultant" - logo items that were offered as incentives by HO (not things from AIM), like conference totes, etc.
"Recent" - recently retired items like leaf linens, white TTA, etc.

  • #15
If anyone got some "Ancient"things in their boxes they do not want give me a heads up I might be interested in purchasing them )

  • #16
Do you get a reasonable amount of things in the boxes, enough to purchase? I mean, what would you think the discount is? I am debating wether or not I NEED to get one (or two hehe), because I have quite a few give away items at home already.

Please, someone counsel me?

4!! I love them. There was a ton of stuff in each box and the stuff I didn't like I would give as host gifts etc.!!

Well just for an example, I got a $25 box and right on top there were 2 runners that originally sold for $39. Plus a quick-stir pitcher, twixits, SB cookbooks, kitchen towel, corer, toater bags, stencils and more that I can't remember. Well worth the $25!

Wow, $25? That sounds like quite a bargain! I think I will have to invest.

Thank you!

Also, you can ship them right there at conference so you don't have to lug them around all day. They can take the cost of shipping right out of your next commission check.

  • #21
Are the conference totes large enough to fit a surprise box and a binder in?

  • #22
No. The tote is more of a "snacks and paperwork" size. The surprise boxes are show shipping boxes. Granted, some are in the smaller shipping boxes, but they're still to big to go into the tote.

Ouch! I was planning on putting my laptop (very slender) and my Consultant binder in my tote... does that mean it will not all fit?

  • #24
Those should fit - but it's not a "Take everything but the kitchen sink" size. Don't forget that everything you take, you'll have to lug around McCormick place - miles and miles of walking!

  • #25
Will I even use my laptop, realistically? I'm really starting to doubt all my plans :p

And a tote that at the beginning of the day seems to be very light, by the middle of the afternoon will somehow magically become about 1000 lbs heavier......how does that happen?

Unless you use it for taking notes, don't even bother taking it. I find it faster to use a notepad and pencil during workshops.

I don't think so.....I was going to bring mine, because I took the tech class - but they have computers there for you to use for that.....most of the other workshops have handout sheets specifically for that class to use for taking notes....and alot of the time in the General Sessions, you are sitting in the dark. I think you can manage just fine w/o your laptop.....especially since it gains so much weight while carrying it around at conference!;)

  • #29
WOW!!! I am glad I mentioned something about it... I would have packed my laptop unnecessarily. Thank you, thank you, thank you soo much! :)

Honest - I would NOT take your laptop unless you absolutely have to and are willing to leave it in your room. That is one lesson I learned from this trip ... those totes get way heavy with just normal stuff in them. A laptop will become a desktop pc by the end of the first day ...

You Have To Buy A Suprise Box!!Oh my gosh, I cannot tell you how excited I was about my boxes. I bought a $15 one on my first day, had it shipped home, and here is what is in the box:

deep dish baker (YES!!! Someone traded for the patriotic apron I had)
family size quick stir pitcher
ice shaver
easy accent decorator
lg micro cooker (plum color)
ANOTHER easy accent decorator (traded for some fall linens, I think)
stoneware crock (I tried to trade, but lots of these floating around)
stoneware tote (traded someone for ???)
nylon whisk
non-stick pancake mold, heart shaped
fizz keeper to put on 2-liter bottle
pack of SB from 2001 with envelopes
"The Pampered Chef Favorites" cookbook from 1992

I really want to go through and calculate the "actual retail value," but haven't had the chance yet.

So you decide, is it worth it?? I think so!! BTW, Shipping for this box was approx. $15.00

My second box will be here tomorrow, and I will list the contents when I open it. I know there is another deep dish baker, a mini baker, a small quick stir pitcher, and a patriotic apron. (This was a $15 box, too)

Now, neither one of my original boxes had any stoneware but I traded for it all. Some of the $50 boxes have 2 DDB in them.

I got a $10 box. Because I was just getting it to ship home mini catalogs and recipe cards. :)This is what I got:
1 pack S/S 2001 SBRC (6) with envelopes
Flower, heart and star bread tubes
blue tumblers
old can opener
TPC Favorites II cookbook (1994)
Cookies cookbook (1989)
lots of bubble wrap (what can I say, I'm a popper)I only really NEED the cookbooks (including SBRC). So if anyone wants to make an offer on the other stuff, I'm listening.

Can I get the bread tubes?

I have a feeling that once everyone gets back from conference there will be a lot of activity at the Marketplace!

The trading tables crack me up....I felt like I was on the floor at Wall Street! But I was right there, "who wants to trade for a stoneware crock? Anyone need a crock?"

A cluster-mate dubbed it "The Piranha Pit" the first year they had it, and the name's stuck. It was particularly apt that year. I swear, you could have gotten first-born children for some items!

Hehehe!!! If you had the children's apron and chef hat this year, some would seriously consider it! Yes, definitely "The Pirahna Pit"!

Sure! I'll take them to the PO tomorrow to get a ship quote, but I can fit them into a priority box no prob.
So, if I ship priority, how's $15 sound total?
