Participants share their personal experiences regarding similar situations and express varying opinions on the actions taken by the Home Office (HO) and the community's role in such matters.

Discussion Character

  • Opinion-based
  • Anecdotal
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant, identifying as a consultant, expresses anger towards someone who reported them to HO, feeling that it undermines the community spirit.
  • Another participant questions the accusation, suggesting that HO employs staff to monitor policy violations rather than relying on community members.
  • Several users mention their own experiences with receiving notifications from HO about policy violations, indicating that such monitoring is common.
  • One participant reflects on the importance of understanding and following the rules, suggesting that violations are ultimately the consultant's responsibility.
  • Another participant shares a personal story about being reported by a friend on social media, emphasizing the need to move on from such incidents.
  • Some participants express concern over the negative attitude displayed in the original post, suggesting a more constructive approach to handling violations.
  • A few participants note that the community should focus on support rather than policing each other, advocating for encouragement instead of accusations.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Views differ significantly, with some participants supporting the idea that community members should not report each other, while others believe that understanding and following policies is essential. No clear consensus emerges on the appropriateness of reporting behavior within the community.

Contextual Notes

The discussion reflects a mix of personal experiences and opinions regarding the enforcement of policies within the consultant community, highlighting the emotional responses to perceived betrayal and the complexities of maintaining professional standards.

Who May Find This Useful

Consultants navigating the challenges of policy compliance and community interactions may find the shared experiences and viewpoints relevant to their own situations.

ROFLOL! Where is that little smiley of the fists rolling anyway...Linda? I KNOW you have that one...

Sad thing is any business gets this childish. Most stop it at work though with corporate structures. PC is so flexible that almost anyone can join and have the pleasure of running their business almost anyway they want (as long as they follow policy). Unfortunately it does stop people from being people...
I wish I did. I think it was Laura, she has all the great smiles! I'm way too lazy to save them in any sort of format where I can easily find them.

Must have been Ann E. then.

actually, you did:

No! I actually didn't. I used the word "call" not as in "phone call" but "call" as in "point out" ex: Actually the Chef Police did "point out" to Allison on violating an Internet Policy in one of the other threads. Big difference.

Well I guess the moral of this little story is that it serves me right to stick my neck out for another fellow Cheffer. Yes. It does sound like kids fighting but it takes two to tango. ;)

Todd - the issue is who and what you are trying to defend. If you are defending someone who blatantly states they violate policy then gets caught however it may be then comes on to attack people on here who provide a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience and THEN attack or call names to those who stand up for uncalled for attacks...well, then yes, don't stick your neck out. Silence would have been better.

I thought long and hard about posting on any of these threads but logic states that the poster was being childish, is blaming others for being caught violating a rule - not link anyone here created links for her - well, that just needs to stop. That is common sense and logical.

The rest is a flurry of emotions that will die down if left unstirred.

OK, well I'm going to go to some actual work for my biz.....I guess I'll see where all this goes in the morning...

But you still don't get it! I could care less if she voilated a policy. That is between her and HO. What does it benefit me calling HO to tattle? Nothing. Allison was trying to help out another person who asked for help and got told she violated policy by the Chef Police. She didn't need that. Why didn't this person just send her a private message instead. No! Instead she pointed it out in front of everyone. And then mysteriously HO emails Allison about the policy violation! Give me a break! I would be mad if that happen to me too. Again... it is none of anyones business. Not mine. Not yours. Nobody but HO. Let them deal with it. THAT is my point!

Wow this thread is still going?

I'm sorry but when little miss Allison posted like she did she made it everyone's business. No need to attack everyone else for posting their thoughts or opinions that is what this site is for. If she would have been the adult she is suppose to be she would have PM'd whoever she thought turned her in - not post it on here for everyone to read. PLUS, no one knows who "turned her in". For all we know the HO person that checks on this site did it themselves.

Holy moly folks...this is a little heated (and funny) all at the same time. Let's just build a bridge - and get over it!!

I have never heard that one before! Love it. I'm going to save that and use it one day at the right time!

Todd... I understand you are upset. As you see it as someone who was trying to help got "slapped in the face". I see it as she made her bed now has to lie in it. If she did not want to get in trouble she should have been more careful about what she posted. As others said HO does patrool this board so it is completely within reason that they saw her post and did some research.

You keep complaining about the PC police who troll arround just looking for people to turn in. Maybee some people do that I do not know. I do know that many of us have seen blatant violations and have tried to nicely inform the violator and have been thanked with such venomus (sp) hateful ravings that it would make your grandmother faint! There are many people who do not know or understand the internet advertising policy. Some are new some are not. We are all on this site to help each other and that includes educating each other on this issue. Recently I very nicely notified someone via PM that they had their whole PWS listed in their signature. They were grateful as they had forgotten and did not know that it was against policy at the time they did it.

Botom line is if you are doing things that are wrong do NOT advertise that fact. If you get called on it do not freak out and blame others.

You don't want me building a bridge. I can't hit a nail to save my life. :D

WOW! I cannot believe this! Has anyone else noticed that the original poster hasn't responded to any of this??? SOOOOO.... several people have wasted much time & energy in reaction to someone else's bad day!!!

This site is supposed to provide USEFUL information to help build our businesses, and provide a forum to discuss frustrations that only others in the business could understand.

This is an amazing business with lots of amazing people. I pray we can return to that! Threads like this do not "help people develop their God-given abilities.." as stated in OUR mission statement.

Allison, if you are following this, it is completely possible (& very rewarding to you & your family) to replace your FT income with PC. I, too, received an HO e-mail once on an internet violation. No, I wasn't happy, but I didn't let it ruin one of the best opportunities that I have ever been given. It takes lots of faith & the SUPPORT of people who actually understand your frustrations. Don't give up on PC or this site, whether or not someone reported you really doesn't matter. How you choose to react to it does.

The only reason I knew this thread even existed is because Allison sent me a private message telling me how hurt she was that someone would report her. She probably didn't come back because she didn't want to have to deal with it. I hope she doesn't give up PC or Chef Success either. I find this website very useful.

I don't think that anyone should take anything personally if they get an e-mail from HO about internet violations...you simply have NO way of knowing how the violation was found...I don't think ChefAnn has so much free time on her hands that she snoops around on the internet looking for violations as has been implied by many posts here...and even if she did, does it really matter?? If you get caught speeding, it doesn't matter if someone called the police from their cell phone or if the cops just happened to be driving by...what matters is that you were violating rules, whether you cared or not. I totally don't intend this to sound harsh at all, just that we don't know how violations were discovered, and we shouldn't rush to judgement when they are. I hope that the violations are fixed, and that this persons PC business really works for her, because I believe this business CAN work, WITHOUT violating the rules.

Confused about the internet polcy about premotingFor those like me whom just joined this chat site: Can you just say what the rules about self advertising is and what you can do on the internet?

For we know and let it be a waring to all of us.

And then if its a violation why are so many people selling things on ebay that are pampered chef or pampered chef related? I am very confused here.
can anyone explain it to me ?
