It's actually a little cold here, and I have a sweatshirt on. The oven can warm up my house. It's a beautiful, clear, sunny day, but it's breezy. I have the windows open, but I keep closing them a little more every once in a while. My house was 72 degrees, last I looked. Warmer than winter but colder than when I have the air conditioning going.
I take it you aren't using air conditioning. Do you have it? I don't like my house warmer than 74. I really don't like it much colder than that either, but I can't afford to keep it that warm in the winter.rennea said:It's 92 outside and about 88 in the house:yuck::cry::yuck:

DS liked dinner. He had Lucky Charms for dessert.

I found some fresh beets and spring onions at the farmers market friday. i tossed them whole with olive oil, italian seasoning, and pressed garlic. did the same for uncooked, shelled shrimp. used the grill basket to roast the beets and onions for 2 mins or so, then added the shrimp for about 4 mins.
i took off the charred layer of onion, but not the beets. everything was tres yummy!

On a hot day, quick and easy recipes are ideal. Consider grilling skewers with marinated chicken, bell peppers, and zucchini. You can also try grilling burgers or hot dogs, as they cook quickly and require minimal prep. For a refreshing side, grill corn on the cob or vegetable packets with olive oil and seasoning.
To prevent your grill from overheating, try to grill during cooler parts of the day, such as early morning or late evening. You can also keep the lid closed as much as possible to maintain temperature. Additionally, ensure your grill is well-ventilated and avoid using high heat settings unless necessary.
Staying cool while grilling can be achieved by wearing lightweight, breathable clothing and staying hydrated. Set up a shaded area near your grill, use a fan if possible, and take breaks in a cool indoor space. Consider prepping your food ahead of time to minimize time spent at the grill.
In hot weather, consider using indirect grilling techniques to avoid flare-ups and burning. This method allows for slower cooking and can help keep your food juicy. Also, marinating meats can add flavor and moisture, making them less likely to dry out in the heat.
Refreshing drinks can enhance your grilling experience. Consider serving iced tea, lemonade, or infused water with fruits like lemon, cucumber, or berries. For a fun twist, you can create a signature cocktail or mocktail that complements your grilled dishes, such as a watermelon mojito or a citrus spritzer.
