Hello:

I received my Food Chopper in November and have used it only a few times. I can't get the blade guard to stay on, other than when the clear plastic cup is screwed on. I have also noticed that it doesn't chop very well - even classics like onions. So, I avoid using it at shows, even though it's very popular.

Has anyone else had this problem? Do you think it might be the product itself and I need a new one?

Thank you -
Susan

I would call HO and get a replacement...especially if you are avoiding using it at shows! I had to get mine replaced about a year ago from the one that I received in my kit, and now it works perfectly again!

I'm confused Susan - are you trying to use it without the clear collar on it? If so, that may be the problem - the clear collar has to be on for it to work. If you do use it with it on - maybe you do just have a defective one. If so, definitely get a replacement!

This is what I was wondering about also - it won't work w/o the clear collar - that is part of the structure of the chopper. Do you have a recruiter, or director
who lives close to you and could give you a visual lesson on how the chopper works?

The only time I have ever had anyone have problems with the chopper is when they tried to use it without the collar and of course it kept falling apart.

If you are having trouble with the collar on, I would call HO.

Exactly what I was thinking too...the only thing you take off for use is the cap on the bottom...the rest stays together...

Remember they have online training on consultant's corner for all of the products in the New Consultant Kit.

Mine does the same thing. I have to hold it upside down to put the clear sleeve on or else the blade guard falls off. It's been this way since I got it but I didn't know if it was supposed to do that. It chops fine but is kind of a pain when it falls apart faster than I can hold it together. lol

I called HO and the guy I spoke with was no help. I think I confused him. lol He transferred me to Test Kitchen where I got to leave a voicemail.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if the blade guard is not fitting properly on the Food Chopper?

If the blade guard is not fitting properly, ensure that it is aligned correctly with the blade. Check for any debris or food particles that may be obstructing the fit. If the issue persists, inspect the blade guard for any signs of damage or warping and consider replacing it if necessary.

How can I fix the Food Chopper if it is not chopping food effectively?

If your Food Chopper is not chopping food effectively, first check to ensure that the blades are sharp and not dull. If the blades are dull, they may need to be replaced. Additionally, make sure you are not overloading the chopper with too much food at once, as this can hinder its performance. Try chopping smaller batches for better results.

What should I do if the blades are stuck and won’t rotate?

If the blades are stuck and won’t rotate, check for any food debris that may be lodged in the mechanism. Disassemble the chopper and clean all components thoroughly. If the blades are still stuck after cleaning, inspect the mechanism for any signs of damage or wear that may require repair or replacement.

Is it normal for the Food Chopper to make a loud noise while chopping?

While some noise is expected during operation, excessive loudness may indicate an issue. Check to ensure that the chopper is assembled correctly and that there are no foreign objects obstructing the blades. If the noise continues, it may be a sign of a mechanical issue, and you should consider contacting customer support for assistance.

How do I clean the blade guard and ensure it remains in good condition?

To clean the blade guard, wash it in warm, soapy water and use a soft sponge to avoid scratching. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reassembling. To keep it in good condition, avoid using abrasive cleaners or tools, and store it in a safe place to prevent damage.
