The food chopper is one of my best selling products and my husband and I use it all the time. However, lately after I wash it I've had trouble getting the plastic piece that covers the blade to fit back on correctly. Any suggestions? Does anyone else ever have this problem?

That happened to one of mine many years ago - I had put it in the dishwasher and the heat-dry switch as on w/o my knowing it - it warped it ever so slightly. It has a 5 year warranty - get it replaced.

Mine started doing that last year. I always put it in the dishwasher, so I stopped for awhile. Then all of a sudden it started fitting better & now I put it in the dishwasher again.

I have that problem and I use the energy saver option on my dishwasher, so I don't think it's from that. I also put it on the top rack. I could be from the dishwasher, I guess, but it's supposed to be dishwasher safe. I can get it on, but I have to work it a little.

I have the same trouble occasionally. I find that if I give a little squeeze to each section of blade (think of it as a series of V's), it usually lines things back up.

I will have had mine 5 years in Feb. It has never been in the diswasher (we don't have one) & it does that. It has gotten to where it doesn't cut the food all the way through. Can the blades be sharpened or should I just get a new one? I got it with my kit, how do I get it replaced?

Edit: I figured it out. I guess I will send it back after my show on the 7th. That way I will have it in time for my next show in 2008.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I do if my food chopper isn't chopping properly?

If your food chopper isn't chopping as expected, first ensure that the blades are clean and free from any food residue. Additionally, check that you are using the chopper on a stable surface and that the food pieces are not too large. Try cutting the food into smaller pieces before using the chopper for better results.

Why is my food chopper making a strange noise?

A strange noise from your food chopper could indicate that something is caught in the blades or that the blades are dull. Inspect the chopper for any obstructions and clean it thoroughly. If the blades appear damaged or worn, consider replacing them to ensure optimal performance.

How can I prevent my food chopper from leaking?

To prevent leaking, make sure that the lid is securely locked in place before using the chopper. Also, check the rubber gasket for any signs of wear or damage, as a faulty gasket can cause leaks. If necessary, replace the gasket to maintain a proper seal.

What should I do if the handle of my food chopper is stuck?

If the handle is stuck, try gently wiggling it back and forth to see if it loosens. If it remains stuck, check for any food debris that may be obstructing the mechanism. Cleaning the area around the handle can often resolve the issue. If the problem persists, consult the user manual for further troubleshooting steps.

Can I put my food chopper in the dishwasher?

Most Pampered Chef food choppers are designed to be dishwasher safe, but it's always best to check the specific care instructions for your model. If you choose to wash it in the dishwasher, place it on the top rack to avoid damage from high heat. Hand washing is generally recommended to prolong the life of the chopper.
