If I don't have GRANDS Biscuits on hand and can't get to the store this afternoon... how many "normal" biscuits do I use... or won't they work?

If you have them in a bag I would just cut and use them until the pan/stone got full. If they are in a can I would start with 2 cans. If you have different size stones you can always put the bsicuits you have in a stone until they fit in and quit adding. I know that is not exact help but that's all I can come up with.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use regular biscuits instead of GRANDS biscuits in my recipe?

Yes, you can use regular biscuits instead of GRANDS biscuits. However, keep in mind that the texture and height of the final dish may differ since GRANDS biscuits are larger and fluffier.

Will substituting regular biscuits affect the cooking time?

Yes, substituting regular biscuits may affect the cooking time. Regular biscuits typically cook faster than GRANDS, so you may need to reduce the baking time by a few minutes to avoid overcooking.

What adjustments should I make to the recipe if I use regular biscuits?

If you use regular biscuits, consider reducing the baking time and checking for doneness a few minutes earlier than the recipe suggests. You may also want to adjust the amount of filling or toppings to ensure they complement the smaller biscuits.

Can I still achieve a flaky texture with regular biscuits?

While regular biscuits can still be flaky, they may not achieve the same level of fluffiness as GRANDS biscuits. To enhance the texture, you can try adding a bit of extra butter or using a biscuit recipe that incorporates layers.

Are there any recipes where substituting GRANDS biscuits is not recommended?

Yes, for recipes that rely heavily on the size and texture of GRANDS biscuits, such as layered casseroles or dishes that require a tall biscuit topping, it's best to stick with GRANDS biscuits for optimal results.
