I'm hoping someone can help me.

Last night, I used my UM to slice carrots and after running through the dishwasher, both the blade piece and the main unit are slightly stained. What can I use to get this back to normal. I am having my very first show on Sunday and don't want to bring it like this!

That's normal. Carrots just do that to the tool. A little Soft Scrub with bleach (the gel kind) will take it off. You could also try scrubbing it by hand with a little dishwashing detergent, if you don't have Soft Scrub.

I also find that Magic Eraser works well on this!

Frequently Asked Questions

What causes staining on my Ultimate Mandoline?

Staining on your Ultimate Mandoline can occur due to the types of foods you are slicing, particularly those that are acidic or deeply pigmented, such as tomatoes, beets, or carrots. These foods can leave behind residues that may stain the surface of the mandoline.

How can I prevent staining on my Ultimate Mandoline?

To prevent staining, it is advisable to clean the mandoline immediately after use. Rinse it with warm water and mild soap, and avoid letting food sit on the surface for extended periods. Additionally, using a protective coating or oil on the surface can help minimize staining.

What is the best way to clean stains from my Ultimate Mandoline?

For stubborn stains, you can use a mixture of baking soda and water to create a paste. Apply the paste to the stained areas and gently scrub with a soft sponge. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry completely to prevent further staining.

Are there any specific cleaning products I should avoid?

Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can scratch the surface of your Ultimate Mandoline and make staining worse. Stick to mild dish soap and non-abrasive sponges for cleaning.

Will staining affect the performance of my Ultimate Mandoline?

While staining may not directly affect the performance of your Ultimate Mandoline, it can impact the appearance and may lead to bacteria buildup if not cleaned properly. Regular maintenance and cleaning will ensure optimal performance and longevity of the product.
