It's a coc*tail weinermobile!!

If it were, it would be wrapped in a Pillsbury crescent roll.

Just had to comment to raise the hits on the superbly cheesey subject line. A+

This is a thread that is read with relish.

I think that since Posey took the time to come up with such a great thread title, we should make sure to post with our minds in the gutter. :)

I saw this article first thing this morning and really thought it would pop in some of KG's postings. It sounds like a KG kind of topic. :p

Thanks for posting the pics. I kind of have the smiley thing down, but haven't attempted putting pics directly in a post yet.

Oh, but you quickly had a lot to add to the topic, didn't you?

Google is your friend.Besides, the Weinermobile is local legend. Even though Oscar Meyer is located in the People's Republic of Madison, about 90 miles west of here, at least one or two generations of Weinermobile were designed and built by Brooks Stevens. Mr. Stevens was a legendary industrial designer who made major breakthroughs in many places. When confronted with the brand new clothes dryer that wasn't selling, he added the glass window to the dryer so people could watch their clothes tumbling and sales skyrocketed overnight. He designed The Milwaukee Road's stunning Hiawatha passenger train. In the automotive world, he made some radical designes for Studebaker that might have saved the company if they had been implemented in time. (One of his ideas was a sliding sunroof over the cargo area of the Studebaker station wagon, a design that finally made it to market in the form of a GM SUV last year.) He also designed a four door sedan where the left front door was identical to the right rear and the right front was identical to the left rear cutting production costs in half. He also designed the Excaliber, which his sons built in West Allis, Wisconsin for many years. His idea for the Weinermobile was to build it on a Chevrolet van chassis, which was used until the Mini version.

I still have that! Couldn't even get rid of it! :)

I have the 90th anniversary pin too.

I didn't know he designed that logo.

I also have my MSOE letter jacket. :D

Stupid filtering software at work won't let me open this... apparently viewing the Sienfeld episode is not considered necessary to my work day.

Is this the one where he has been swimming and talks about the "frightened turtle"? One of my favorite episodes!

Ann, you crack me up!! Yes, if they had made it a Ball Park mobile, it wouldn't shrink.
(Let the record show that I did NOT make a gutter minded post...YET!!! I, being the vile, filthy minded, potty mouthed "Ann" of the bunch...has shown GREAT restraint from participating in such fodder! However, I can not be responsible for future posts on this thread to be G rated!!:D )

I loved that episode (although I didn't have it memorized like Katie).

KG, you remind me of Wilson from Home Improvement. The guy over the fence with all the knowledge, but we never get to see your face. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has thought that.

I don't think KG is grumpy enough for the part of Mr Wilson. I tried to find a YouTube clip of the old Mr Wilson...I don't recommend it. It's been edited with lots of potty mouth language.

Ok, so some you you have already left to go look it up. I know how you are!

If they put liquid Viagra in the tank, would it be as big and shiney as the 1952 Weiner (mobile)?? Would you be able to drive it longer (pun intended)? And if you drove longer than 4 hours would need to see a doctor? (or in KG's case...call and brag to your friends!!)

Sorry (well not really) I just can't help myself!!!

Better to be thought of as Wilson, or even Mr. Wilson, than Cliff Claven.

No one has ever related you to Cliff have they? I agree that even Mr Wilson would even be a better comparison than that.

My smiley needs to slow down before he bursts!

Aww... the weinermobile is shrinking....

What's crazy is when I started researching bento lunches, I kept coming across something called weiner cutters, I kid you not.

Turns out they're these little contraptions that put strategic cuts into hot dogs so when they're cooked they shrivel and turn into an intended shape... like a tulip... or an octopus or crab... yes, strange but would you expect anything less from Japan? LOL
