Yeah! That's all it takes Amy to turn a month around...now go get some August bookings from that show!

Well, I did make one contact. It was a positive conversation, but no show date, yet. She likes the sound of the knife special, but she thinks August may be too busy. September may work better, blah, blah, blah. It was a good conversation, though, so it helped me get some positive feelings back about making calls. I left three messages and made at least two calls w/o leaving a message. Glad to read everyone's good posts.

WAHOO! Just closed a show at $661.37! That's $1262 in 2 shows for July! Free pumpkin dish, free bag and commission...and a little closer to that $15K mark for me. Yeah!...and my host said I'm her new best friend......and since she got 13 outside orders I asked her AGAIN since she did so great on PC if she thought of selling it. I didn't get a no, I got a MAYBE SOMEDAY. Ok new best friend, you're on my list! ;)

YEA! You must be flying high....what a great Birthday present.

Speaking of birthdays.....did DH remember?

That's great, Janet!I closed a $500 show today, and I have another $500 show to close tomorrow. That will bring my July sales to just over $4,000. Thanks to two great hosts, my July average is over $975. It's amazing what a couple of really motivated hosts can do for your month. :)As for contacts, I had three today. Nothing really to report, but that's okay. My August is a bit light, but it should be fine. September is filling up nicely.

I am! It was a good show!
DH and kids haven't remembered yet...or let on that they have...guess I'd better go see what they want for dinner...

If he doesn't remember by bedtime, he SO owes me! :p;)

Oh My...made a few more calls (yuck...how do I get over that feeling?) And the only contact I actually made with a live person was a past host telling me to take her off my mailing/phoning/emailing lists because
"ps this is because I asked you for a recipe and you never gave it to me."

hmmm...I hope that this is just one of those days...

ps...I sent her an email this evening apologizing and telling her that I took her off my list...with the a recipe...anyone have any other ideas on how to handle these sorts of things?

You did the right thing. Make things right. Bless and release.

Thanks...I'm trying to keep positive here...Tomorrow is a new day so here's to day #2 of 3-2-1!

Okay well today I hosted a Partylite party so I knew I wouldn't be making PC calls.

However, I did book a "combo" show tonight for October! This PL consultant and I did about 6 shows or so together last fall/winter. Most of them were really great, a couple not so good. I will only do the combo shows during the fall/winter b/c of the holidays.

Once again today I didn't do anything but sleep a bunch... However I have just changed over to P3 - Thanks to Rae for encouragement! I did set up my contact plans in P3 and have thought of another person I could ask for an August show (a friend who said she would host when she bought her house, well her plans on buying a house were put on pause, so I figure why not ask?!?) and am going to a mini-fam reunion tomorrow, so I may just have to wear a PC shirt and say I was running errands (which I do have to do anyways).

Way to go Rae on your awesome month! You truly have inspired me this month (not that the rest of you don't inspire me, but for some reason it's been Rae lately!) :)

For me, that feeling has never gone away. I love to talk (I can tell you're shocked  LOL!), but that first business call of the day is still tough. I find that I just have to pull up my big girl panties and deal with it.

Thanks for all the kudos!

And, Alison, congratulations on taking the P3 plunge. You won't be sorry.

SWEET! I had a show last night! Two bookings for August and one VERY strong recruit lead!!! Sales just over $500 and she still has at least 4 outside orders!!!

I am getting on the phone today to make my MAC calls and to hopefully get some more bookings!!!

Okay it's taken a while to get back in my groove again. I have been slightly hijacked w/ other things.

I got on the phone last night, I made 3 contacts last night. Closed 2 shows, touched base w/ a past host gave a recipe & she did an outlet order, set a firm date for a September show. I find people not wanting August, ugh.

I kept hearing at conference to build your biz to where you want it, you don't want 3 contacts a day, you want 3+2+1=6 contacts a day until your schedule is where you want it. By doing it this way you could build your show schedule in 30 days.

We will see what today brings.

Okay, I haven't been very productive as I would like to be when it comes to phone time. I have been managing to maybe speak to 1 person sometimes 2, and then give up after getting 5-6 answering machines. I know I need to make a phone list ahead of time, and dial the number without prejudging, and dial 20-30 numbers instead of 5-6. This has been one of my challenges, besides the challenge of getting the quiet time I need to make those calls. I also find myself giving up too early (at 7:45) instead of staying on the phone until 8pm.

I just bought some small post-it tabs to help me with preparing my phone list, so I have a head start on my calls today.

I have managed to get in 1 contact today so far. This was a lead I met at the grocery store. I have been trying to contact her since the beginning of June. Come to find out, her grandmother has been really ill, so she has been spending time with her (and traveling an hour to see her in the hospital). This is her first time hearing of PC, and she hasn't had a lot of time to look at the catalog. She IS looking to earn some extra income. She either used to sell Avon, or is currently selling it. I am mailing her the current opportunity flyer, and told her I would give her a call in a couple of weeks. (So she still has time to spend with grandma).

So far today I set a date with a potential booking. It's in the book now!

Before conference I only had 2 August shows. Now I have 7! Just one more to make my goal!

And I MAY be crazy, but I have shows booked on the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th! YIKES! I have never done 4 in a row before!

Ellen what I have found is if you do the same recipe it makes it a lot easier. Also set yourself up the weekend before. You can do it, & you never know each host could be a winner.

So, this morning, a neighbor called and wanted to bring over an order from her mom for a show that is closed...so she brought it over. It's for almost $150!

That was my first contact of the day - she and her mom are going to make it a catalog show, and try get a few more orders.

Then, I got home from the Farmers Market w/ JAE, and visiting my mom - and had a phone message from the host of yet another show that already closed - and she had a couple more orders....

And a phone message from someone who got my name from a customer of mine - and she wants to order the old S&P mill - so I called her, and will be taking her a catalog, and a mini with the new S & P mills so she can decide between the 2.

Going to the Chiropractor later this afternoon, and will be taking mini's with me, and also hope to book the receptionist for September. She wants cookware!

I love it when my contacts come this easily...makes up for the days when all I get is answering machines!

So I just talked to a friend about the knife week and she'll be out of town, but we're going to do one the week after - yay! We're meeting for lunch on Friday so we'll choose a date and go over the host packet then (she was carrying in bags from the grocery store bag when I was talking to her, so couldn't really check her calendar)! Yay!

I'm almost on my way to the fam reunion and for some reason am so nervous to bring up a show again (I've got a host packet ready). I had a dream last night that I overhead my aunt telling my mom that she doesn't get why I am still doing PC. Don't I know that everyone is sick of it? I told my friend this afternoon and she said I am just working myself up too much about it, she actually laughed when I told her (I never remember my dreams!)

I remember my dreams, too, Alison. Sounds to me like Satan's been whispering in your ear. Ignore him. He's a liar.I closed my last show of the month today--just over $500. :)I had five contacts. My host and I met at a restaurant to close. While there, I saw an old friend. She and her sister invited me to sit and chat with them for a few minutes. She asked about PC, then told her sister how great a consultant I am. No orders or planned shows, but a great ego boost. On my way out of the restaurant a server stopped me and asked about my PC purse ribbon. (I've attached one to a purse that has loops, since my tote is beginning to look a bit ragged.) She asked for a catalog and is possibly interested in some stoneware. While making calls tonight I talked with a potential recruit. She's currently selling customer-made purses. She's finding that people aren't willing to part with $150 or more for a purse when the economy's tight. She's not hungry now, but I can tell her last meal is starting to digest a bit. (In other words, it's just a matter of time.)I also called someone who emailed me asking how much the Chillzanne Rectangular Server was. By the time our call ended, she's booked an August catalog show. :)It was a good day.

I got one more contact in today (making it 2) I spoke with someone that placed an outside order for a recent show I was closing to get her payment info. She is not interested in hosting, but is interested in receiving my newsletter.

Asked one person about having a show and she said "no".

Booked an October catalog show...lady is obsessed with the DOTS stuff...too far away to do a cooking show. (Her husband is our FedEx National Account Manager). She was up with him today and he stopped by my office JUST so we can meet. She did catalog shows with me last year to get the cookware. I love dedicated customers!

show tonight was a madhouse.....8 elementary school teachers, 3 of which had brought babies under a year old, along with 5 other kids from 5-14......guess who was the loudest and talked through the whole demo...........THE TEACHERS!

Sales just at $500 with several orders to still go...no bookings (Iam sooooo OK with that!) and no recruit leads!

Getting on the phone tomorrow for MAC calls from the 2 shows this week and CCC's! Gonna make 10 live contacts a day if it kills me!

ok, I'm going to make a confession! :yuck: This business fits me because it is ever changing and I have a VERY short attention span. BUT right now, the rollercoaster ride is not very fun for me. Im on the part where it seems like nothing is going right. :grumpy: Now, I know and keep telling myself that I did just sign 2 new recruits and I'm really happy about that. BUT...... I want a full calendar and it's just not happening right this very minute and it frustrates me to no end!

oops, I posted before I was finished!

so, contacts made. nuttin' good to report

but Monday is comin' Amy!!! Are you ready??????
