Power Cooking - How Many Does It Serve?

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

Cooking 3 lbs of meat for a gathering can reasonably serve 10 people when prepared as small hoagies, especially if accompanied by appetizers, salad, and dessert. Each recipe typically serves 6, but cutting the hoagies in half allows for 12 servings. The discussion emphasizes that while the event occurs right after work, it is not intended to provide full meals, and past experiences indicate that over-preparing can lead to leftovers. For optimal results, consider the number of attendees and the variety of food offered.

If I cook 3 lbs of meat for a show and serve 1/3 as the Hoagies, how many people will it reasonably feed? I'm expecting 10 people on Friday right after work. If they're small hoagies and we serve appetizers, salad and dessert, would that be enough? Or will people go away hungry?

Each recipe serves 6 as regular servings. So if you made the hoagies and cut them in half, you could reasonably expect to serve 12. If you also have a veggie tray or salad, you'd be fine.Of course, it's still important to remember that, even though your show is right after work, we're not there to serve full meals to people.

I did 4 pounds of meat for the PC show I did a couple weeks back. There were supposed to be 15 people so I thought that 2 lbs for the chili we were eating was safe.

Ended up only being 5 or 6 people, but the leftovers just went in the fridge for the host!
