Perfecting Prep Bowl Cakes: Ideal Batter Measurements for Half-Filled Pans

In summary, Prep Bowl Cakes are individual-sized cakes made using Pampered Chef's Prep Bowls. To make them, simply mix your favorite cake batter and bake in the recommended 1-cup size bowls. Other batters such as brownie, cookie dough, and muffin can also be used. The baking time may need to be adjusted and to remove the cakes from the bowls, gently run a knife around the edges and flip them onto a plate.

how much batter to fill half way? I thought 1/2 cup but then I do not have enough batter for the 2nd set of six (it was a box for a two layer cake)

If you doubled everything, then just evenly put the batter into each prep bowl. I haven't made them since spring, so I don't remember details. If each bowl has an equal amount of batter, you should be fine as long as you doubled all the ingredients.

It really depends on the size and type of cake pan you are using. Generally, for a two layer cake, you will need about 2 cups of batter for each layer. So if your box mix makes enough batter for two layers, you should be able to divide it evenly between the two pans. If you are using smaller or larger pans, you may need to adjust the amount of batter accordingly. I would suggest checking the instructions on your box mix or doing a quick search online for the specific pan size you are using to determine the right amount of batter. Hope this helps!
