i don't own the bundt pan yet - can you make the cakes in a dif't piece of stoneware - in the micro? would love to show it at my show next weekend - but i won't have the bundt pan by then and thought maybe someone knows about a substitution.
thanks!!
ps - thinking of making the luscious lemon cake

I think the reason the bundt shape works is because it also heats from the middle out. I think if you were to try a different stone- maybe the mini loaf?
The smaller compartments may cook? Good Luck!:)

I have made them in the deep dish baker. They came out ok

Why not borrow it from your director for a week? Try it out. I find you need the brush scrubber too. :)

try to borrowI agree, try to borrow one from your director or anyone for that matter. I borrowed one a couple of days ago and have made 2 cakes (one to test it on my family and one for my demonstration at my open house today). They both came out perfect and the frosting on the bottom of the pan bit was great. I also baked a chicken in it last night. Today a customer said she was wary about using the stoneware to cook meat one day and dessert the next. I asked her if she tasted any chicken in the piece of cake she just ate(of course she said no) and I proved how great the stoneware was. I can't wait to have my own fluted pan. FYI, if you do have a rice cooker you can make a cake in that as well.:)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make lemon cake without a Bundt pan?

Yes, you can make lemon cake without a Bundt pan. You can use other types of pans such as a round cake pan, square baking dish, or even a loaf pan. Just be sure to adjust the baking time as needed, since different pan shapes can affect how quickly the cake cooks.

What are some alternatives to a Bundt pan for baking lemon cake?

Some alternatives to a Bundt pan include a 9-inch round cake pan, a 9x9-inch square pan, or a loaf pan. Each of these options will yield a different cake shape, but they will work just as well for baking a delicious lemon cake.

How do I adjust the baking time when using a different pan?

When using a different pan, you may need to adjust the baking time. Generally, cakes baked in smaller or shallower pans will cook faster, while those in larger or deeper pans may take longer. Start checking for doneness about 5-10 minutes earlier than the original recipe suggests, and use a toothpick to test for doneness.

Can I use a silicone mold instead of a Bundt pan?

Yes, a silicone mold can be a great alternative to a Bundt pan. Silicone molds are flexible and non-stick, making it easier to release the cake once it’s baked. Just ensure that the mold is sturdy enough to hold the batter without collapsing.

What should I do if I don't have any suitable pans at home?

If you don't have any suitable pans at home, consider using disposable aluminum pans or even muffin tins to make lemon cake muffins. You can also borrow a pan from a neighbor or friend, or check local kitchen supply stores for affordable options.
