Happy Holidays all!

i usually make my bacon in my bar pan and LLLOOOOVVVEEE it!
but tomorrow i have to make lots and lots for the faamly brunch and i was thinnkin maybe i could make more in the roaster.
has anyone tried this??

I haven't done it, but it probably could be done. Another thought would be to use more than one stone in your oven. I can fit the large bar pan on one rack and the medium bar pan and the new covered baker (minus the cover) on another rack.

Yes, you can definitely make bacon in a roaster! Here's a simple recipe for making bacon in a roaster:Ingredients:- 1 pound of bacon- Roasting pan or roaster- Aluminum foil- Paper towelsInstructions:1. Preheat your roaster to 375°F.2. Line the bottom of the roaster with aluminum foil. This will make clean-up easier.3. Lay out the bacon strips on the foil, making sure they don't overlap.4. Place the roaster in the oven and cook for 15-20 minutes, depending on how crispy you like your bacon. You may need to adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of your bacon.5. Once the bacon is cooked to your desired level of crispiness, remove the roaster from the oven. Use tongs to transfer the bacon to a plate lined with paper towels to soak up any excess grease.6. Serve and enjoy your delicious bacon!Note: You may need to cook the bacon in batches or use multiple roasters if you are making a large amount. Just make sure to monitor the cooking time and adjust as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between using a roaster and a bar pan for making bacon?

The main difference lies in the design and functionality of each pan. A roaster typically has higher sides and is designed to hold larger quantities of food, making it ideal for cooking a lot of bacon at once. A bar pan, on the other hand, has a flatter surface and is great for achieving crispy bacon, but may require cooking in batches if you have a lot to prepare.

Can I use the Pampered Chef Bar Pan for making bacon?

Yes, the Pampered Chef Bar Pan is excellent for making bacon. Its non-stick surface allows for easy release and cleanup, and the flat design helps the bacon cook evenly and become crispy.

How long does it take to cook bacon in a roaster compared to a bar pan?

The cooking time can vary depending on the thickness of the bacon and the oven temperature. Generally, bacon in a roaster may take about 20-30 minutes at 400°F, while bacon in a bar pan can take around 15-20 minutes at the same temperature. It's important to check for desired crispiness and adjust the time as needed.

Is there a difference in cleanup between the roaster and the bar pan after cooking bacon?

Yes, there can be a difference. The bar pan's non-stick surface typically makes cleanup easier, as bacon grease can be wiped away without much effort. The roaster, with its higher sides, may require a bit more scrubbing to remove grease, especially if it has accumulated on the sides.

Which option is better for holiday gatherings: roaster or bar pan?

It depends on your needs. If you're cooking for a large group and need to prepare a lot of bacon at once, the roaster is the better choice. However, if you prefer crispy bacon and are cooking for a smaller group, the bar pan may be the ideal option. Consider your guest count and desired bacon texture when making your decision.
