I have a host that wants a chicken and gravy recipe. She says the chicken starts out on the stove and then finishes in the DCB. A gravy is also made at some point in the show. That's all she knows about the recipe. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. You can post or email at jenncolachico at comcast dot net. Thanks in advanced!

I'm thinking the chicken must brown in a stainless pan, then transferred to the DCB. I'm think the gravy would be made in the pan. I can't recall a PC recipe like this. Did she see it at a show?

She has a bunch of PC junkies that are coming to this show and telling her she "has" to do this recipe. They guarenteed her she sell cookware and DCB is she did. Of course, I like that idea as well. If only I knew what recipe they are referring too!

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the basic ingredients for a chicken and gravy recipe?

The basic ingredients for a chicken and gravy recipe typically include chicken (either whole or cut into pieces), chicken broth or stock, flour (for thickening), butter, and seasonings such as salt, pepper, and herbs like thyme or rosemary. You can also add onions or garlic for extra flavor.

How can I make the gravy from scratch?

To make gravy from scratch, start by cooking the chicken in a skillet until browned. Remove the chicken and set it aside. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour to create a roux. Gradually add chicken broth while whisking to avoid lumps. Let it simmer until thickened, then season to taste. You can add the cooked chicken back into the gravy to combine flavors.

Can I use boneless chicken for this recipe?

Yes, you can use boneless chicken for a chicken and gravy recipe. Boneless chicken cooks faster and is easier to shred or cut into pieces. Just make sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly to ensure the chicken is fully cooked.

What sides pair well with chicken and gravy?

Chicken and gravy pairs well with a variety of sides. Popular options include mashed potatoes, rice, steamed vegetables, or biscuits. These sides help soak up the delicious gravy and complement the flavors of the chicken.

Can I make chicken and gravy in a slow cooker?

Absolutely! To make chicken and gravy in a slow cooker, place the chicken in the slow cooker with broth, seasonings, and any desired vegetables. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Once cooked, you can thicken the gravy by mixing a bit of cornstarch with water and adding it to the slow cooker for the last 30 minutes of cooking.
