Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Iso DCB and how is it used for dessert recipes in the microwave?

The Iso DCB, or Deep Covered Baker, is a versatile stoneware piece from Pampered Chef designed for both oven and microwave use. It allows for even cooking and moisture retention, making it perfect for baking desserts like cakes, brownies, and cobblers quickly in the microwave.

Can I use the Iso DCB for baking cakes in the microwave?

Yes, the Iso DCB is ideal for baking cakes in the microwave. You can prepare your cake batter as usual, pour it into the DCB, cover it, and microwave it according to the recipe instructions. The stoneware helps to create a moist and evenly cooked cake.

What are some popular dessert recipes that can be made in the Iso DCB?

Some popular dessert recipes for the Iso DCB include microwave chocolate lava cake, berry cobbler, mug cakes, and even rice pudding. These recipes are quick to prepare and take advantage of the DCB's ability to retain moisture and heat.

How do I adjust traditional dessert recipes for the microwave using the Iso DCB?

When adjusting traditional dessert recipes for the microwave, reduce the cooking time significantly, typically by about one-third to one-half of the original baking time. Start with shorter intervals and check for doneness, as microwaves can vary in power. Also, ensure that the recipe is suitable for microwave cooking.

Are there any tips for cleaning and maintaining my Iso DCB after making dessert recipes?

To clean your Iso DCB, allow it to cool completely before washing. Use warm water and a soft sponge to remove any food residue. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive scrubbers, as they can damage the stoneware. Regular seasoning with oil can help maintain its non-stick properties.
