I just thought she listed her highest show total in pesos, or lira.Maybe it's just in Canadian dollars.(Hehehehehehehehe!)

I think I read somewhere it was a fundraiser?? Or maybe that was someone else? I'd love to have a show total like that too, seeing that my highest month has never been over $5k!

Not just 5K in a month, that was her highest SHOW!!

WOW, can you imagine!
That was some good sales pitches :D

lol... you guys are all too funny! My highest show was from a fundraiser with a private high school's volleyball teams. About 50 girls. I spoke at their mandatory meeting before try-outs. I gave every girl a catalog, 5 OOFs, a how to order sheet and a magnetic business card. I put everything in a manilla folder stamped with my info. They had 3 weeks to sell. I offered a pizza party to the team that sold the most and a $25 gift certificate to the mall for the girl that sold the most. 1 girl alone sold $500! It was a great thing. I felt bad that I couldn't give them a higher percentage, but I worked my booty off for that thing (literally... sitting at my desk entering all those orders took like 2 hours! man was my booty numb! :) ) The downside is I don't think they are going to do it again next year as the percentage is so low :( I need to figure something out to try and keep them! It also helped that at this school there can only be 1 type of fundraiser per year (i.e. one wrapping paper, one bake sale, one candle, etc...).

You should give up part of your commission....That will increase their %, keep them as a steady fundraiser, up your monthly/yearly sales...and with a fundraiser that size..you are not doing that much work, so you could take less pay..JMHO

I thought about that Kathy... but I figure I spent about 5% on supplies and recognition... then if I gave away another 5, they would still only be getting 20% and I would only be making 5% (now 7% since I hit my 15,000) and that fundraiser was a lot more work than the 2 cooking shows that could make up that 5/7% of commission... I'm thinking about throwing in the 50/50 raffle (50% of the money goes to the org and 50% goes towards PC gift certificates to be raffled off) with a catalog fundraiser for those who want to purchase things. That way they make more money and I still get a fundraiser.

Gourmet Girl, Could You Explain That 50/50 For Me? It Sounds Interesting. How Does It Work?

You sell raffle tickets... let's say you sell 100 $10 tickets. You then have $1000. The organization gets $500 and you raffle off 10 $50 gift certificates or 5 $100 gift certificates. You could easily change the price of tickets based on what crowd you are selling to (these girls are from a very, very expensive private school and would totally get $10 for a raffle ticket; me on the other hand, would probably only spend about $5 on a raffle ticket). You then submit the gift certificate orders as either a fundraiser or as a show, where you can use the products in another incentive (say for highest seller, for the chairperson, etc). hth! let me know if you have any other questions.

Alison, I'm a little confused. What percentage did the group end up making? Before I signed as a consultant last month, my director did a cooking show fundraiser for our hs group, and we made 20% - 15% from PC + 5% from consultant.

They made 15%. All from PC. I was just a consultant at the time, so I was only making 15% on fundraisers. Your director makes 20% on fundraisers I am assuming (17% base plus 3% director overrides). So when she gave you 5% she was still making what most consultants make on a fundraiser. clear as mud?

Thanks for the explanation!
