I put mine in the top rack of my dishwasher to wash them this weekend. This way I did not have to remember to get them out of the dryer and not put them in with fabric softeners. I just laid them out in my kitchen to dry.

The "use and care" card does say "dishwasher safe." I thought that was crazy until I decided to try it. I guess I am crazy with them!:D

I would have never thought to put them in there.

O/T Did anyone notice that hosts in April can purchase these towls as a host only special. I submitted a show last night and hit the mag. glass and scrolled down to where the host specials were and it allowed me to add dishclothes to the host order. I was kinda shocked because I didn't remember seeing or reading anything that the hosts could purchase those in April.

Yep, it was on the monthly flyer for the host special. They could purchase them at whatever % off they earned, or use free product value towards them. They are $9.50 for hosts only. Guests can only get them with $60 in product purchase!

That is a great thing to pass on to guests!

I don't think I use mine as much as I would like to for the same reason...too much to think about come laundry time! I will throw mine in the DW too!

Oh, I wish I'd noticed that when i submitted my show today- that's ok, I'll add it to my next April show. I'm really looking forward to these things.

I gave my hosts a set for free, because they paid over $60 out of their pocket....just like I've done in the past. If they were available for $9.50, was I not supposed to do that? P3 did let me...

Yes- from my understanding and something I read, I think the hosts are eligible for guest gifts if they go over $60 in purchases themselves. I guess so you could get them free towels plus they could purchase a set for $9.50.

Jennifer~

I was meaning they could get them for free using their free product or if they DIDN"T spend $60 out of pocket they could buy them.

You were RIGHT...if they spend $60 out of pocket, they get them FREE too!

Sorry, my post wasn't too clear on that. I was speaking about hosts who didn't "earn" them like the guests could!

Phew! I didn't want to hold up my order for some stinkin dish cloths :p Thanks!

So the food paerticles don't get stuck in them??? Just curious. And they smelled good?

I am having a great time showing off the dish clothes this month. The past couple of shows I put one cup of water in one of the Easy Read Measuring Cups and showed how one of the towels can absorb all of the water. I really think that is encouraging some of my customers to reach the $60 mark.

I had 2 shows this past weekend...the first one, everyone strived to get to the $60 mark to get them! The 2nd show, they didn't really care for them...

You shouldn't be washing or drying any of your towels with fabric softener. It will inhibit their absorbency.

None of my kitchen towels or bath towels get softener, so the microfiber gets washed right along with them!

Wow! ALL of my towels shouldn't get fabric softerner?!?!

I never knew that! Aren't they scratchy then?

OUCH! I can't imagine not using Softener on my towels. I've never heard of this before.

I do it anyway! But, if your towels do start to not absorb as much, you can always soak in vinegar and that will break down some of the softener that is stuck in the fibers!

my mom always told me that and I never believed her, lol! Go figure!

Actually, if you put a little vinegar in your rinse water instead of fabric softener, your towels will stay absorbant but not scratchy. I use vinegar instead of fabric softener for my cotton knits, too. It reduces the chance of pilling.

Rae~

Can I put vinegar in my fabric softener cup of the washer? How much? Fill the cup with it, or less?

No food particle in them at all. I put them on the top rack. They smelled fine to me.

I use an amount equal to the Downy Ultra I use for my sheets.

I had never heard of that. I just cannot imagine not putting fabric softener in them. I would think they would be so scratchy.

I do not have a way of adding vinegar other than just pouring it in the washing machine.

What do you do if you do not have a softern dispenser? Do your clothes smell like vinegar?

How do you put your liq softener in? Do you have a Downy ball that releases it? If you do, the vinegar would get released into the rinse water then. It shouldn't smell like vinegar, since it's in the rinse water and they get rinsed at least one more time with clear water.

I think I will try the vinegar thing...BONUS: That's way cheaper than fab softener liquid!!!!

I promise I'm not walking around smelling like salad dressing. Vinegar is actually an excellent deodorizer. It doesn't leave any scent behind.

I use the Downy ball.

Ohhh! I am so going to try that with my Downy ball this weekend when I wash all of my towels :) I haven't tried the vinegar thing to this point, only because it sounded like a hassle....but I can do this!

I may have to get ball. I just put the softener sheets in the dryer. I have never used liquid softern in the wash.

OK... So I did a show and mentioned the towel special. I showed the flyer that said, "Not available in our catalog." Then, later on, someone said, that they were in the catalog. So, did I miss something?
