I agree, that's probably why the format changed. I've never seen them do a self-guided tour before. It's too bad they can't do some combination of self-guided and guided. Some areas are great to have the extra guidance so you know what you're looking at. Other areas it's easy to just go through and figure things out on your own and stay as long as you want to.mrssyvo said:Maybe they changed the format of the tour to enable more people to take the tour. Remember, when we first started registering, the tours sold out QUICK. They probably thought this was the best way, self-guided tour, but everyone who wanted to go could. A nice compromise.

Please know that the self-guided process was new this year, and overall very well-received. It gave people a chance to see the building at their convenience, not have to worry about not being able to hear a guide that's trying to speak to 15 people at once, and made the tour more relaxing and enjoyable. We had signs placed throughout the building with the information that a guide would have spoken, and staff available on each floor to answer questions and give directions as requested. With a little more time, your tour would have met and probably exceeded your expectations.
