Desperate for Bookings -- I'm a Newbie

In summary, the author is trying to get bookings for their upcoming show but they are not having much luck. They have been calling people, sending out emails, and dropping off fliers and information everywhere they have gone but they are not getting the "spring break" in the way and a lot of maybe's for May. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have been working diligently to get bookings for the last week. I have called 15-20 people a day, sent out emails, dropped off fliers and information everywhere I have gone. I'm getting the "spring break" in the way and a lot of maybe's for May. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm doing an Open House Mystery Host show next week -- I'm hopeful for that. But, what next? I have May bookings but not much for April.

I always post this for newbies and anyone in need of bookings! Although I am not the creator, I just love the suggestions!

Thank you for this list. I'll start working on some of these today!

I would call the maybe's for May back and "pencil" in a date. Most people end up keeping their pencilled in date. BUt I have found that If I have a maybe for the next month and don't get them their packet soon when I call in that month they say they don't have enough time to plan for it. (even though we all know they really do!) So, pencil in those dates and call a few days later and confirm by letting them know that you are sending them their host packet and just wanted to check on the time for the show! HTH

Call anyone that like to entertain and tell them that you have the COOLEST trifle bowl on the planet on sale this month for less than $16 and that no entertainer is complete without it! If they still won't budget then offer to order something small as an incentive on their host order and you will pay!
