Cooking Show Across the Country...long Post

In summary, Sarah, from California, recently moved to Virginia and is thinking about becoming a Pampered Chef consultant. Her mother found out and is going to host a show for her. Sarah did a catalog show at work and got over $400 in orders then last night did a webcam show at her house. She did her show in Virginia and her guests watched the presentation, asked questions, etc. in California. Sarah has a lot of PC products and played the role of "Vanna White" and showed people the products. Everyone was really impressed and she ended up getting 2 bookings for cooking shows when she is in California for vacation.

Ok...long story... I am from California and recently moved to Virginia for my job - so I know very few people. When my mom found out that I was thinking about becoming a Pampered Chef consultant she told me that she would host a show for me.
She did a catalog show at work and got over $400 in orders then last night we did a webcam show at her house. I did my show in Virgina and her guests watched the presentation, asked questions, etc in California. Luckily my mother has a lot of PC products show she played the role of "Vanna White" and we showed people the products together. I mention stoneware the benefits and the hosting special (;)) and she passed her stone around for people to look at, etc.
She also made the same recipe that I demo'd, so the guests got to try it and not just be teased with "food porn";) lol
Everyone was really impressed. I ended up getting an $800 and 2 cooking show bookings for when I am in California for vacation...

I was just really excited and wanted to share!!!

That was a great idea & so nice of your mother to help you out like that. Congratulations!!!

So is your Mom going to loan you some of her PC products to use at the CA shows? I'd hate to see you try to carry your stuff across country!

That is such a great idea! Way to go!

That's great! Maybe you could recruit someone in that circle.

Cool way to think outside the box.

Ashley, thank you so much!! I'm also in VA, and my recruit is in California. We can't even find a hospitality cluster close to her! She hasn't had a show yet, because she's never SEEN a show. I just sent an e-mail to her and my director asking what they think of setting up something like what you did.

Sarah - if you have any questions or need help getting things up please let me know. Where about in California is your recruit? I know a few consultants in Cali that might be able to help usher her along.

She's in Pacifica, on the SF Peninsula.

If you find someone one the Peninsula, let me know! I'm about 30 miles from Pacifica (gorgeous area) but I'd travel that direction for a cluster meeting. I ended up joining with someone out of the area, too, but cluster meetings would be very helpful to get a good start! I'm closer to San Jose, but could go up to San Francisco.

All the consultants that I know are in the Southern California area - around L.A. - and i think that is a little to far to drive for a meeting ;)

Koima, have you checked with HO (well, actually, your Director has to), to find a cluster near you? Of the two I was given for my recruit, if I remember correctly, one was in Los Gatos. I can try to find the info for you if you like.

Hmm, now I think of it, it couldn't be Los Gatos, because that's not too far from Pacifica, but it was around there.

They're checking for me. I heard from a director in Dublin, but that's quite a ways away (maybe 40 miles?) Los Gatos is definitely closer, so if there is someone there let me know!

Hah! I used to live in Hayward, and took BART to work in Dublin. The most horrible job I ever had.

Ok, I'll look through the mass of junk, er paperwork, on my desk and see if I still have that phone number.
