Howdy ya'll
I have a delima, I was finally on the phone making calls last night. It has taken me a year and a half to do this but I can finally make myself do it. However I did call more than three cause it was the only good time of the week for it. But I had about 5 of them say they couldn't have a party and I told them I would send a catalog. So should I go the more expensive route and mail out the whole catalog or just send the mini catalog with the new items??? I know I can win or loose either way but just wanted some opinions on this.
Thanks
Kelli

Personally, I would send a mini. Put a small note inside, saying, here's a taste of what we have to offer. Visit my website to view the entire catalog!
Great speaking with you on XXXXXX.

HTH!

since the holidays are so close, I would probably send both to get them thinking. Both, that is, if you're not sending out 20....

I would probably do the full catalog myself, but I am still pretty new at this. I just think it gives them more to look at. Maybe there is something in it that is not in the mini that they would buy? Just my opinion.

I would definitely send the full catalog. If they ask to see a catalog they want to see everything. I know you can send them to your website but it's not the same. They think you're doing things on the cheap if you send them the minimum. The big thing is to follow up with a phone call to see what they decided to get.

I shop catalogs all the time and never get around to ordering but if they called me and said "did you get our catalog and is there anything you want?" I'd say "yes, let me get it" and they'd have a sale.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a full catalog and a mini catalog in direct sales?

A full catalog typically contains a comprehensive list of all products offered by a company, complete with detailed descriptions, pricing, and images. In contrast, a mini catalog is a condensed version that highlights select products, often focusing on seasonal items or bestsellers. Mini catalogs are usually smaller in size and can be more cost-effective to produce and distribute.

When should I use a mini catalog instead of a full catalog?

A mini catalog is ideal for specific promotions, seasonal sales, or when you want to target a particular audience. If you’re running a limited-time offer or want to showcase a new product line, a mini catalog can create urgency and excitement. It’s also useful for events where space is limited or when you want to keep your offerings simple and focused.

How can I determine which catalog type is best for my target audience?

Consider your audience's preferences and buying habits. If they appreciate variety and want to see the full range of products, a full catalog may be more appealing. However, if they prefer curated selections or if you’re targeting a specific demographic, a mini catalog can be more effective. Gathering feedback from previous sales events can also provide insights into what your audience prefers.

What are the cost implications of using a full catalog versus a mini catalog?

Full catalogs generally have higher production and shipping costs due to their size and the number of products included. Mini catalogs, being smaller and more focused, are typically less expensive to produce and distribute. This can make mini catalogs a more budget-friendly option, especially for new consultants or those with limited marketing budgets.

Can I use both types of catalogs simultaneously in my sales strategy?

Yes, using both types of catalogs can be an effective strategy. You can distribute full catalogs to provide a comprehensive view of your offerings while using mini catalogs for targeted promotions or events. This approach allows you to cater to different customer needs and preferences, maximizing your reach and potential sales.
